Day 24 - Disney Fantasy Day 5 - Falmouth, Jamaica.
I woke up fearing the worst for my toe but it wasn't too bad, a vast improvement on yesterday and the swelling had gone down too. This was good news as today was a port day in Falmouth. We had considered doing the falls rafting and waterfall walk but decided against it, although my toe was on the mend I was still in quite a bit of pain so we decided to have a walk around the port area and spend a lazy afternoon on the boat.
After fruitless efforts trying to dry out my phones USB port I placed it back into its box of rice for the day, We did the usual breakfast at Cabanas before heading out into Jamaica. The immediate area around the port is nice with the usual souvenir shops, coffee shops and people selling crafts, pretty much like most port areas you pass through. So thats what we did, passed through and headed out of the gates into Falmouth.

We found Market St and bartered for souvenirs, the whole market area was buzzing and alive with the loud reggae music blasting from the shops and the hustle and bustle of people going about their day, the place had a real vibe, the kind of vibe you could smell in the air.

We didnt want to wander too far off the beaten track so we pretty much stuck to the two main streets in the area, Falmouth and Market Streets. I had a good laugh with some of the locals and we just sat and had a Red Stripe and watch the world go by. We had spent no more than a couple hours in Falmouth but we had enjoyed it there, we had our reservation and had been told to keep our wits about us and we did heed the advice but for the most part the people were fun, welcoming and most likely stoned !!!
Back aboard we had lunch and chilled by the pool, did the usual get ready at the Spa and headed to Dinner. Tonight was pirate night so we dressed in our pirate attire of bandana, eye patches and facial scars and joined our Floridian friends for dinner, the other couple were dining at Remy. and yes I was jealous.
Pirate night was fun but the meal is always rushed so that they can everyone through for the pirate show and the fireworks. The show was good but we got the wrong side of ship for the best view of the fireworks. Once the fireworks were over the deck emptied, the was young the weather was warm so out came our pop up bar, which tonight included Red Stripe, and we drank the away the night away once again on deck 13. arghhhh.
