I think it's going to be some scenes from the tv show and the announcement was delayed due to the hurricane (and probably the opening too).

Any idea how long lines have been? Seems like something that could be easily overwhelmed by not-so-large crowds.

It is, indeed.
We went the second day they were open, and lines were not that bad. We did get in line about 15 minutes prior, and we were the first ones in the standby line (all other UO resort guests line, as opposed to the Cabana Bay guests line).
