Each has its pros and cons and the variety and balance of attractions is what's going to be key for this park.

What if you put the helmet on in the vehicle and instead of going into a dome it just did VR?

I’m pretty sure you can put a VR rig on a motion base. Which, considering BttF was just watching a movie on a motion base, it feels like VR would still be more impressive.

If you can sync AR with movement in Mario Kart as well as it's being reported I don't think that full VR on a motion base is too much to expect.

They’ve already put VR on roller coasters. An in-place motion base is actually an easier implementation.

I was also gonna say that VR BTTF in the Simpsons Ride could be part of a cool upcharge event...before realizing you could just change the video and motion profile.

It would be far more consistent and you could probably just play a video instead of something dynamic to change with the minor differences that a coaster could have.

The interior of the DeLorean had a charm with the dates and flux capacitor being visible. VR could add that back in.

I wouldn’t mind a Sonic rollercoaster with AR rings on the track.

So successfully that parks have removed most of them by now. I don't think VR tech will be consistent or polished enough to be more than a novelty in coasters for quite some time. The light leak, motion sickness, overheating, and positioning issues are magnified several-fold outdoors on a coaster.

It's dynamic enough that you'd be able to re-theme the ride with minimal effort, something akin to what they want the Dreamworks theater to be. I'm imagining having a queue with similar set-pieces to MMRR where you can alter them through projection mapping and lighting, then the ride itself is entirely VR and can be changed out periodically.

This concept is why I always found the blank room idea at Disney so interesting. You could half the capacity for Simpsons, make the top row BTTF and switch back and forth between riders.

When the Simpsons deal is up, it would make for an interesting transition.

After riding two VR coasters, I much prefer just enjoying the coaster as is...It's not a matter of quality for me

Phase 2,3,4,5?

If Universal really wanted to cram as much into the area as possible. For reference, park 2 is just park 1 mirrored and rotated. The water park would be similar in size to Volcano Bay and hotel 5 would be slightly smaller than Cabana Bay.

I'm curious if they trudge ahead with four or stop at three

Four parks is a lot to deal with...and there's really only one resort that has tried it

Yes, and we wouldn't want USF to turn into another Epcot now would we.

A lot would have to go wrong for that to happen. USF is much better than Epcot.
