Can anyone tell me about the Arrowverse, the collection of CW shows based on DC Comics, and if the rest is worth watching? I watched Seasons 1 and 4 of Supergirl, and they were pretty good (with the exception of Winn in the first season, and taking too long to get to Lex in 4). But I know the other seasons have big problems (though I don’t know exactly what), so I skipped them.

Been years now, but I remember the first two seasons of Arrow being very good (with the exception of fumbling Black Canary). Dropped off by the time Ollie runs for Mayor, no idea if it ever improved. First season of Flash was also good, but also ends on a big reveal that ended up tanking the series going forward.

Both are heavy on the DC lore Easter eggs, albeit with their own spin on them. But both ultimately succumb to being CW teen soap operas at their core, and having to stretch that budget v. a blockbuster movie.

This (from 5 years ago) is my favorite review of the controversial Killing Joke movie from 2016. So many people focus on the infamous Batman and Batgirl romance that little point out that the original comic book story wasn’t that great to be begin with, and that its theme has been done better in stories like The Dark Knight, Arkham Origins, etc.
