The Old HHN 30 Speculation Thread (2020)

Bit of a random question and I apologize if it's been asked before, but do we know if the Crypt Keeper is or ever was on the table for the icon house? After all, he was *technically* the event's first icon. I understand that the rights situation is tricky and Uni's probably better off focusing...

Halloween Horror Nights 2020 Old Speculation Thread

Honestly I think we were naive to assume that we would have 10 mazes without including TWDA. In true zombie (sorry, "walker") fashion, it always finds a way back from the dead.

Halloween Horror Nights 2020 Old Speculation Thread

I'm a little confused as to why they would close it in a few weeks just to open it back up in September but I can't say I'm surprised. They'll tout it as an extra maze until they physically cannot anymore. I hope they can at least use the extra downtime to alter the layout somehow as a last...

Halloween Horror Nights 2020 Old Speculation Thread

Maybe I'm alone on this one, but I don't see Resident Evil happening in the soundstage (if it happens at all). It's usually saved for the biggest/most complex property, no? Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I swear I saw somewhere that the Universal x Netflix contract specifically stated that...

Halloween Horror Nights 2020 Old Speculation Thread

I certainly don't hate the idea of Billie's music being integrated this year. It'd be a nice change of pace and scenery. Also, do we know if this is explicitly rumored for a maze or a scare zone?

Halloween Horror Nights 2020 Old Speculation Thread

The only connection to be made between how Spirits & Demons of the East was handled vs how La Llorona/El Cucuy/Cinco de Mayo in Holidayz were handled is the idea of using a specific culture as inspiration. Besides that, they're wildly different examples. As a Mexican (I obviously don't speak on...

Halloween Horror Nights 2020 Old Speculation Thread

Allow me to throw in my two cents. Stranger Things 3 It's only obvious. We don't know the specifics of the Netflix/Universal contract (well, at least I don't) but I'm assuming it was for at least three years. I don't think the negative reception of this year's maze will hurt the property's...

Halloween Horror Nights '19 General Discussion

I'd say that 2016 was objectively the best year in terms of overall quality, but this year has been my personal favorite. With that said, I think next year has even more potential for greatness and I can't wait for spec season to start!

Halloween Horror Nights '19 General Discussion

Thanks for getting back to me, everyone! I agree that the scare wasn't very scary because of how predictable it was, but it's such an iconic moment in the movie. It'd be a shame if they don't end up finding a way to fix it.

Can anyone who's gone recently confirm or dent that the Nathan scare with him holding the head cake in Creepshow has been permanently changed? I went through twice the first weekend and both times the scareactor popped out holding the cake. I've seen many videos taken more recently that show the...

Halloween Horror Nights '19 General Discussion

As far as reviews for Pandora's Box go, I'm getting the general consensus that the hardcore fans are more likely to dislike it because of so many recycled props and effects and the more casual fans are more likely to love it because, for them, it's not necessarily like something they're familiar...

Halloween Horror Nights '19 General Discussion

I'm not usually one to complain about "PC culture" but, if true, the removal of the corpse turkey is nothing short of ridiculous. You paid money to go to a horror event where you are warned a countless amount of times that what you are going to see is for more mature audiences. Then you see a...

Halloween Horror Nights '19 General Discussion

I'm going to steer clear of the whole Us issue because that's not a path I want to tread. Instead, I just thought I'd share some general insight about my experience with the event this past Sunday. Early entry worked surprisingly well, as Stranger Things was only a 40 minute wait right out the...

Halloween Horror Nights '19 General Discussion

I'm sorry if this has already been addressed, but where can I find the hours for the event? I remember hearing that the nights won't all last until 2 AM as they had before, so I was wondering if there was a calendar or something where I could check the hours for a given night.

Anyone know what the split between seasons 2 and 3 in Stranger Things is like? I know it's mostly season 2, but I wanna get a feeling of just how much season 3 is featured.

Anybody know what he could be talking about? The only things coming to mind are the room full of skeletons in The Shining that might've been replicated for New Year's or maybe something from Krampus coming up in Christmas somehow.

That Stranger Things review doesn't surprise me, but it doesn't worry me either. Last years's was pretty light on scares but I enjoyed it anyway. Besides, the only scares you could really pull off aside from the demodogs would be Billy and maybe fakeout scares from Hopper and some hazmat suit guys.

I'm hoping this is just a matter of the people who liked it just not being vocal. I'm okay with there being a runt of the litter, so to speak, but I really want this one to pull through. Honestly, I'm mostly worried about the smells overall. Yea, it's not the most important thing, but they add...
