Variety is reporting that Andy Muschetti, the director of the hit 2017 adaptation, IT, will be on-board as Director for the Western Adaptation of the popular series, Shingeki No Kyojin; otherwise known as Attack on Titan.

‘It’ Director Andy Muschietti Boards ‘Attack on Titan’ – Variety

Attack on Titan, comes from the Japanese Manga of the same name, as David Haymen is producing with Masi Oka & Muschetti's sister, Barbara Muschietti.

Interest has been on a possible adaptation, with John Boyega also having intrigue to the IP being adapted.

The film, is being developed at Warner Bros. Pictures.

WB already did a foreign adaptation for it. It sucked (but is such a guilty pleasure based on how bloody it is)

It won't work for foreign markets because it literally will be so sanitized it will be boring.

Honestly, I'm on-board with it, as this shows they do trust Andy to handle the IP well. And that, it isn't exactly something that needs to be say..white-washed.

If they do this right, which with the team so-far (it also has to come down to who is going to write this..) I have not that much doubt with that it could be better than we expect.

It is going to be interesting though, how they handle a bit of the content.
