Anyone know why there are no showings for the first few weeks of May?
Likely due to short park hours that can't accommodate running the show at night.

Last year's operating hours for May:

Ugh. We got to see this for the first time last trip and LOVED IT! No idea why Universal isn’t staying open long enough to run this year round (outside of HHN) . Rivals HEA as a night time show

Being there the night they run the show is like hitting a lottery........Does WDW close before the Epcot Fireworks, DHS Fantasmic, MK Castle show? Universal does a lot of things well, but they're amateur hour when it comes to running their night show on the lagoon.

Agreed. My wife is a huge fan of fireworks at Disney. She immediately rated Cinesational over
All of them

I was hoping Epic Universe's opening would get Universal to put on their big boy pants and keep ALL of their parks open till 9PM, but guess not...

Park hours haven’t been released for May yet, though.

Is that not expected?

For that to be a permanent cut would dramatically undermine the show.

It was running in B-mode up until the hiatus, so who knows?

I think it may come down to what exactly happens with the company behind the drones Universal uses and/or the final result of the investigation. This page has a good breakdown of what happened. Preliminary report findings point to things Universal would've already avoided in terms of proper configurations and plenty of testing ahead of time.

I'm hoping it comes back but unless someone around here knows more I don't think it's a certainty.

On a bit of an amateur hour note— why do most of the cast members not seem to know when the shows are happening or offer any guidance on where to stand? When I visited with my family last time, I asked a few cast members about the show schedule and the best viewing spots. Only one of them knew the showtime, and none mentioned that we should head to Central Park. I tried to chalk it up to the show being somewhat new, but remembering Cinematic celebration, it was a lot of the same. They put together such a beautiful show but then fall short on the operations of it.

Yeah, I've posted the same issue about the previous show. UC puts together some nice Disney level shows but Mgt. and Ops(Oops) ruin it because they only run the show sporadically and the TMs have no clue when it's going to run. And they wonder why they don't get the big viewing crowds like Disney. It's ridiculous.

Not sure if they still do it, but I remember back in the day a lot of Disney World cast members would carry a printed times guide on them for the day

Good timing. WDW just reinstituted the daily times guide for guests at AK, and is expected to reissue it for their other parks. Seems many guests didn't want to use the Disney App for that....Universal, on the other hand got rid of all their park maps and guides and forces guests to use their time consuming App. WDW still has paper park maps. Universal just gets too high tech at times instead of being guest friendly. WDW is backing off the App for everything phase due to guest complaints. Not everyone wants to have their faces in their phones all day when trying to relax on vacation.

There's something like that available for TMs at Universal. I don't think many use it.

A Universal TM had one when we asked him about the parade last year.

Good you found a TM that actually pays attention to what he put into his pocket.
