Hello guys. I just wanted to share an experience with everyone and wonder if anyone else has had the same.

Just so you all know it was a mistake and only done once, but when my family spoke about it we thought really it was a good idea. But basically...

In 2011 my family and I were queuing up at Disney Studios parking, we hadn't paid for the parking yet, we had only just got to the ticket booth and decided between us all that's we would miss out on Fantasmic. (The main reason we were going to the park). So we got up the the booth and the attendant asked for $14 or however much it was and my Mom asked how we leave the car park as we have decided to go back to our accommodation. He told us to follow the road round and then we would see the signs on the road for the exit. So we followed the road round and were not entirely sure where we were looking and ended up in the lane for the car park. So we decided we might as well stay and see what happens.

We arrived back to our car a few hours later and nothing was any different to how we left it.

Has anyone else experienced this, or not paid for parking?

Never happened to me, but last year with Star Wars Weekends because I arrived at 5:30 in the morning nobody was at the parking booth and I got free parking.

People do this everyday and just an FYI the parks can tow a car if they abuse it. I've done it before but only because I didn't have my pass on me and didn't want to deal with getting a refund.

Haha. But that makes more questions crop up. Do locals with season passes have a permanent parking ticket in their car? Or do they just show there passes to the parking tenets? How do they then know who's cars are season passes etc. Because people don't always keep their ticket on display?

You show the back of your pass and the person in the booth reads the type of pass you have and waves you through.

They don't require you to display anything on the dash.

Season passes don't get scanned no parking ticket is printed out, pretty different from Universal where they scan the card, check ID and then give a paper to display.

Disney is VERY lax when it comes to parking..they KNOW its free money, because it is pretty ridiculous to pay $14 a car to leave it sitting out in the sun, at least at UO they have a garage

So no ones actually checks your car dash once you are in the car park? This seems a slight floor in Disny don't you think?

Correct, no one checks the dash, as I mentioned pass holders don't even have anything to put on their dash.

It's not really that big of an issue when you factor that all cars have to go through the booths to get there and pay without asking or thinking about it. Most people feel a lot better about lying over the phone or online then looking someone in the face. Plus there is the paranoia that they are going to get caught.

Factor all that in and is it worth paying someone to walk around and check? Plus the very high chance of towing a paid car who forgot to put the receipt on their dash.

I do believe that works, which is surprising seeing how much Disney loves money.

It really all comes down to parking being free money, like said above. Parks don't want to deal with a potential lawsuit because somebody got over on 14 or 15 dollars.
