This is a perfect line up of additions for DCA, I'm seriously impressed!

So to confirm we have:
  • Avengers Infinity Defense EMV
  • Stark Labs KUKA
  • Coco boat ride
  • Avatar with Shanghi Pirates Tech
I'd guess there will be another small Avatar attraction in there too.

If the Avatar ride is up on the same level as Shanghi pirates we are in for a real treat.

Pandora land coming with the Shanghai Pirates ride system
Coco boat ride coming to DCA
Avengers getting an E-ticket
A small flat ride coming to Avengers Campus that looks kinda fun

Everyone....DCA is going to be eating good the next few years. DCA 3.0 is upon us. I'm excited for this park to get even more love!

Now let's hope at D23 2026 they announce an overhaul to Hollywoodland. That would really round out the whole package. But it's finally great that Disney is listening to the fans by addressing DCA since DL park has gotten all the love in recent times.

Would love to see Monsters Inc Land for that spot. DCA needs a themed family coaster. Like, badly.

Honestly Hollywood could also just become “the big city” and allow for Zootopia area and the show coming to AK, update the monsters inc ride and add an Elemental attraction and if they have room the monsters inc coaster would be great

It's kinda crazy that DHS is about to have two family coasters + RNRC and DCA continues to only have Incredicoaster and Sky School. And nothing against Sky School, but it's not a sufficient family coaster. Like there's fun to be had on it, but it's just a wild mouse.

Even then most people assume either sky school could be gone for the Coco Ride or just the area near it

They wont but if they could replace webslingers and the animation building for the for the new Spiderman coaster thats coming out, I think would make most DCA goers happier with both the land and park but...yeah not going to happen but I can dream since there seems to be zero plans with Hollywoodland

I do suspect that about 10 years down the line Webslingers probably gets replaced. If that Spider-Man coaster proves popular then it could be possible, but would it fit is the question.

So--I am not entirely sure what thread this goes in, but I figure it's worth bringing up.

https://www.micechat.com/399618-disneyland-update-project-switch-a-roo-construction-price-hikes-too/

Micechat is hearing from their end--that Avatar has been moved as a result of Disneyland Resort advancing with a 3rd gate. The 3rd gate would be located to the left of DL and DCA--being the "Expansion" pads that were talked about before in DisneyForward.

I hope not

If they are just making a third gate with DCA....which I like but it needs more room.

Could it work sure but rather them just buy Gardenwalk and make that area with the To Story lot work for a new gate and new hotel

Anyway, I'll wait to see. No one knows yet where anything is going and every youtuber and site is making educated guesses but we did this game before and thought Hollywood was dead but...its not so its all speculation until Disney says the whats going on

Yeah, I think a third gate in Anaheim would be a mistake but @Jerroddragon's right -- it's all smoke for now. And, given that it's Disney, it's basically smoke until it's open.

I’m just saying….. Avatar, Wakanda, Arendale, and Moana would all make for lovely environments, almost AK esc in terms of it’s appreciation towards nature elements and themed environments, this doesn’t sound crazy to me.

I’m not as familiar with DLR options, but a park like that does sound kinda lovely.

It sounds nice but look at the location of where they are talking

If they do that....DCA is closed off nothing to do but close old lands

I'm not against a third gate but Disney has other area's to make a new gate and a new hotel to be attached to it

Also I'm just saying everyone blogger is saying where Avatar is going....until that scott guy or Disney says its true its all talk. Avatar was rumored to take Hollywood....not true and even the Grizzly area. So its more also setting exceptions

I mean why have D23 and talk about Avatar then be like Surprise...we know this would excite you more to know a third gate is coming but we didn't announce it.....because?

A 3rd gate when they have multiple areas to update/expand in the current parks? Most of DL's capacity issues can be addressed with a proper enhancement of Tomorrowland.

to the extent disneyland has any capacity issues, they could be sorted by actually refurbishing all the attractions in the park. california adventure... yeah, that's another story.

I’m sure Disneyland Resort management really wants a 3rd gate to make more $$$ and spread out the crowds a little bit… but I find it hard to believe that they want to deal with the logistical nightmare of locating a new park in the “Disneyland Forward” expansion areas.

Something tells me Micechat might be way off the mark for this update. If they really wanted to do a third gate, do it in the Toy Story lot. The Simba lot was always presented as DCA expansion anyways.

I think the main reason Avatar is or was strongly rumored to be going into HL is because they can get into to DCA faster than the Simba lot if they work on the construction in conjunction with the EGW. Getting it open for synegery with part 4 in 2029 is probably a priority for Disney.

Coco should be kept near Pixar Pier. If putting on the pier proper would cause too much bottleneck, put in in Paradise Gardens.

Just getting caught up in the DL's third park anime arc right now. My response: Why????

Hey don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna complain about Disney opening a brand new theme park....but when the end result is likely just gonna be a handful of IP lands surrounding a central hub.....why not just utilize your current expansion pads and improve areas in your park that really need it....like....gee, I don't know....TOMORROWLAND??????

I really hope wherever they put Avatar won't be at the expense of something that is core to DCA or what people like (i.e. Soarin' or GRR). If they put it just where the Monsters Inc ride and that hub is, I can live with that. I would rather they utilize that space for something different. I do hope they at least keep the main artery of Hollywoodland, but seeing how the Red Trolly is leaving....that may not bode well.

I was about to post why not put it there? That makes WAY more sense for a third gate. I don't really understand how putting Avatar in Hollywoodland would be faster than putting it in the Simba lot. Like, there is nothing there. It's just a solid block of concrete. They don't have to tear anything down to make it happen.

My guess on regards to what happens to that section of HL boils down to a couple of scenarios.

1. Avatar takes over all of HL from the backlot, Hyperion, and Animation and DJ live

2. Avatar takes over the backlot and spares the stretch with the Hyperion, Animation Building and DJ live spared for now. Then down the line either just the Hyperion or all 3 aforementioned buildings become Avengers Campus expansion.

It’s been a minute since I was at the resort, but is the Simba lot the DD parking by the hotels? If so, there would be a lot of major logistical work that would need to be done before anything could be built there. If that’s not the lot I’m thinking of, just disregard lol

But that’s the thing… if that “Disney Forward” expansion pad is used for a 3rd gate, we won’t get a hub… it would be one of the weirdest park layouts that Disney has ever done, if they utilize that space for another park.

Yeah, it's the area I've got circled on the map. I'd love to see them expand the monorail, but that is almost certainly a pipe dream.
