Since my cataract surgery, I can actually ride coasters better now...BUT....after so many years of riding soooo many minimally themed outdoor coasters throughout the northeast and midwest regional parks, I've found them to feel very repetitious and mehhhh. I enjoy a heavily themed outdoor coaster like Hagrids though, and most all well themed 'indoor' coasters. Age and repetition really lessened the 'fun'. Unthemed/minimally themed outdoor coasters just seem to be such 'lazy' designing to me now.

The older I get, the more I enjoy a thrilling indoor hybrid dark ride. Monsters is the top of the pyramid. But it's important a park have a couple family type dark rides too that are medium thrill....plus live entertainment. I don't think there's much of an audience though for Its a Small World type rides. The ship has sailed on those. POC and Haunted Mansion level is the preferred for an all ages ride.

I agree with this. For forty years or more, I have been on the biggest fastest coasters I could get to without traveling too far (okay, it was Kings Island and Cedar Point primarily). Riding Orion is okay but no intense adrenaline push. The only major coaster to really jack my adrenaline was Top Thrill Dragster and it was mainly the launch. However, I love Velocicoaster and Hagrid's is my current favorite. I will take a ride like Forbidden Journey and enjoy it almost as much. I can ride Pirates of the Caribbean repeatedly as well as Haunted Mansion. Seven Dwarves Mine Train is also appreciated. I also enjoyed riding Horizons and World of Motion. I would love to see what Uni could do with a boat ride that doesn't soak you (looking at you Jurassic River Adventure which I love until you soak me). It would be a nice change of pace ride.

Yes!!! As I said, since the cataract surgery I don't ever get motion sickness, so no issues with any coasters, spinner rides, or screens like Simpsons. But, I get no adrenaline rush from these parking lot unthemed coasters that all seem the same, except for a new tech trick or two. Give me high level theming, or give me death....Patrick Henry, or someone, said something like that. ;) :D ....and more importantly, the indoor hybrids have way more repeatability, which is important when you take long vacations at a theme park resort.

Oh my god it's still happening.

I was concerned that the low wait times for Unchained would move it to the backburner (although I understand that part of it is high capacity).

I think a bride coaster is perfect addition. Then get rid of Werewolf and do ANYTHING else there.

Nah, the park doesn't need another coaster. I think this should be something like Danse Macabre at Efteling. High capacity, indoors, and shouldn't take too long to build.

Disappointing the Creature ride is off the table, if true.

I just want a boat ride (not a log flume or river rapids ride) back in the damn resort already. It's not the end of the world if it's not Creature, but that's gotta be the closest we've come in quite some time.

Capacity is a prime need. Indoor attraction is a prime need. This was all needed yesterday. I'd guess an 'existing high capacity ride system' themed to Monsters. No sense putting a low capacity attraction in...Very interesting. .....Stay tuned to IU and Parkstoppers. Same Bat time. Same Bat channel......Thanks for the info @Alicia

I think an indoor coaster themed to Beetlejuice would go well for the area.

Hey guys sorry for being late! I've been busy spending time with my family and friends over this holidays.

I wanted to update very good news to you guys. I've been in Universal Florida for over 4 days and during that time, I had lots of chance to talk and discuss with creatives and passionate staff members. But one thing I can tell very confidently now is that Creature from the black lagoon expansion has been greenlighted and it will be their next big project at Epic once they are done with Harry Potter expansion

As an architecture student intending to apply for a creative internship next summer with a pretty proficient understanding of building structures and engineering, I was able to engage in an in-depth rather technical and advisement conversation. During this exchange, one of them shared this information with me. Also I asked for permission to share information and they were okay with this since they already started to giving hints

They explained their strategy for marketing new experiences and highlighted how it differentiates them from competitors.

Universal enjoy rather gives hint to the general audience while development is in progress, while the opponent typically announces the project first and shares updates.

Additionally, several cast members (more than 3) and staff members mentioned that they have not heard of any plans for a Potter expansion, while they are all very aware that the Dark Universe expansion is coming very soon and they seemed confident. When I asked about their sources, they were reluctant to share further details, likely due to internal confidentiality. And some of them told me about this project before I even mentioned about this.

That's all I have for now and time will tell. I'd be happy to answer questions.

I have bought about what I heard about their creature expansion plan from half years ago.

Please take this with a grain of salt, as I do not work or have any relation to Universal. But multiple staff, relation members (more than three) indeed confirmed to me that an expansion of Dark Universe is coming soon, specifically mentioning the Creature from the Black Lagoon(Boat ride) These confirmations came through in-depth, genuine conversations. Personally, I do believe them, and I have also been speculating that the Dark Universe expansion may arrive earlier than the Nintendo site since investing in Dark Universe first could strategically balance crowd density across the park, alleviating pressure on other lands and improving overall guest flow rather than making an already highly dense area even more crowded

I'll inform you guys with more details about the conversations when I have time.

Glad to see these clues are slowly gathering around like a puzzle. Personally, I believe what I heard from them and it will be happening indeed. hopefully we get to see their development more clearly time goes by!

I haven’t heard much about that topic since our discussions have been more general and broad, rather than focused on specific IPs, likely out of respect for confidentiality. They’ve only hinted at it briefly, without me bringing it up. What I do know is that they got a plan to move forward quickly with the Dark Universe project while the Harry Potter attraction is still under construction. I believe the Nintendo expansion is not a core priority at the moment and may come last.

I speculated about Nintendo expansion in few months ago and in my opinion, Zelda will come to epic than luigi’s. There has been too many hints and leaked involvement activity around that IP.

All I can say now is many of them told me very confidently that dark universe’s expansion on black lagoon (specifically a boat ride) has been green lighted and it’s in works.

Creatives and members have mentioned this more than harry potter expansion while in discussion.

Addition previous infos on what I heard. Hope this helps!

Maybe relocating curse of wearwolve to more closer to expansion site, put a show building there, overlaying beetlejuice theme would be nice so we can get more village expansion with better view of windmill!

Recall Transformers at USF. Tore down an existing building. Built a new two story structure. The E ticket attraction opened within a year's time. It's doable if they really want to.

Bride coaster in current expansion pad, tear down Curse and theoretically turn that whole section into the Black Lagoon (with ride building taking up the current queue, load station and a smidge into the other expansion pad)?

Could be cooking with something there.

Yep, for f&f drift construction specifically. I think it got delayed due to strict filming and studio restrictions(might shorten available construction slot)plus extra supports. Usually, Universal is pretty fast with pace of construction and you can see clear difference from pacing of construction between Hollywood and florida’s Hollywood Drift as well.

Reallllllly don't like the implication that it could be just a very quick new indoor coaster. Especially if we're sacrificing Creature for this, I'd at least like a Mummy-style dark ride/coaster mix, not just a cheap coaster for a quick capacity add.

We already have one in the land anyways...

This is beyond premature, but it would be bizarre to have three UCM adjacent coasters in the resort period.
