I know the new tents are bigger, but.. Idk. Maybe I'm dumb lol.

I worry that Fallout can't truly be represented perfectly outside of a soundstage/parade building.

I think it should be fine. The new tents are still pretty big!

I mean, we can't really say definitively. It's not like it matters much anyway, Sprung 3 and 4 are pretty interchangeable. I believe it's where Bloodlines was, but we'll see.

Yall, those new tents are HUGE.

When you go in those houses this year look at the ceiling, they are tall as hell. The square feet is also pretty big.

Weren’t there some reports that goblins diddnt even fully use the full space in the tent, if true I’d expect fallout to use much more of the space and be longer.

This could explain why the tent didn't "feel" that big to me lol

In an event which has done post-apocalyptic quite a bit, I'll admit I'm pretty excited to have Fallout coming to the event! It has a distinct flair to it which I do enjoy, and I look forward to seeing how it'll be pulled off. And the IP is just chock full of potential merch and F&B, so it's bringing a lot more to the event than just the house itself!

I'm also not worried about size as those new tents are plenty big, they absolutely have the space for both the vault and the wasteland.

Now as for where it'll be for my anticipated rank, I'll have to wait for the other houses to be announced to get a better idea. It's not like FNaF or the house that's pretty much reserved for the 10th spot for me where I firmly know where to put it, but none the less this is an IP I'm excited for.

Btw, this house is 100% Tent 4. The codename for Tent 4 is Daisy and look what you can spot in the teaser...

Edit: just to add, maybe it's a coincidence. Who knows. Especially since the ad is for both coasts but I guess we'll find out if a flower from one of the codenames pops up in the next teaser

If this is going to be a Season 1 house like IGN reported, I think a tent is fine. The grocery store can have a big enough facade inside one of the new tents, and the vault’s projection field can easily be replicated inside.

Now, if the house is successful enough for New Vegas next year….. soundstage please!

As a horror fan, is the show something I should watch? Or is it kind-of a stretch to be considered "horror"?

Watch it because HHN lol @hunnylvr has started to watch it & found it intriguing enough to fill a void it seems. So yes, watch

No offense to you specifically but this line of questioning has been beaten to death with a super sledge over in the HHN spec threads ever since Fallout was rumored for the event (hell, even over the last couple years when it's popped up on rumor or wish-lists). And I'm just getting really tired of defending this sweetroll of a property to the uninformed; Again, no offense to you UNIrd, as there's been far more egregious dissent elsewhere.

It's now confirmed to be a house at the most popular horror event in the country and arguably the world. If that's not enough consideration for your opinion on it being at least horror-adjacent, you have this line of questioning leftover:
If you want to know what to expect and don't want to play the games: watch the show.
If you don't: don't.

Truthfully, even if you don't want to watch the show and you know nothing about the games, i don't think I need to pull out the history books to show anyone how people all over the world spent YEARS afraid of nuclear fallout becoming a real life event. It literally defined decades of our historical landscape and became a reason we have fallout shelters in real life and a post-apocalyptic genre in fiction. If that isn't horrifying enough for people to understand why a series about it actually happening is considered horror, i really will weep for the future. Fallout might not be as sci-fi horror as Alien or as action-horror as The Mummy or straight up horror as Terrifier but it IS in its own little satirical niche and absolutely belongs at the event and i WILL die on this hill (thank you).

horror is a big tent, but that means there will be disagreement on what all fits inside of it and where inside the tent it fits. I think it's healthy for people to disagree on this as long as we remember that it's just not that serious. I don't necessarily think of fallout as a horror property, but I also don't think that'll stop it from being an intriguing horror nights house.

that said, I think most people will get the gist of it even if they've never played the games or watched the show.

Yea - I see it as horror-adjacent enough where the house has potential. Maybe Fallout isn't outright horror but has "scary" moments.

It certainly portrays a horrific, and plausible, future for humanity! It just does it in an outlandish way, served with a wink and a nod.

I think its a good show to watch even if you are not familiar with the game. If you enjoy the comedy horror houses of HHN you will enjoy this. I'm bias of course though.

I know it won't happen, but I would love for them to throw us at least one Deathclaw in the finale of the house as a nod of things to come...

Ok, I'm just an uber fan who just really wants to see a Deathclaw puppet . I aware it won't happen, but I can dream.

This. It may not fit the strictest definition of "horror," but it's definitely enjoyable black comedy. Which has long been a staple of HHN, as well.

Fun history fact--"Daisy" was the title (codename, if you will) for arguably the most famous political TV ad ever broadcast: a 1964 LBJ ad that showed the country getting nuked, just like the start of the show.
