I would be very surprised if they opted to retheme the 360 tunnel instead of gutting it for something more practical. I mean, shocked. The trend towards the theme park industry is to move away from 3D. Knowing how many 3D glasses they keep losing on the backlot I’m sure they’ve been wanting to get rid of 3D for a while and I think the replacement will reflect that.

I know a lot of people are going to see this news and assume it means Florida and not just Hollywood. :lmao: In due time, my lovelies. In due time...

I feel like the replacement is still 3 years away. I think they’ll prioritize an Islands attraction before changing this out. I feel like between Lost Continent and Rip Ride, this is staying a bit longer…

Thoughts?

If this utilizes the existing attraction again, it shouldn't take too long to reskin the queue/facade. If they have a film ready to go this year for USH (if they're sharing projects), you can easily see something open up next year in this space.

I still think the big "addition" to UOR next year is bringing Fan Fest to the east coast, but that's pending its success in USH.

I’m flying out for FanFest in LA in April. Can’t wait. Though the excitement of it for me revolved more about them using the BttF Town Square for its anniversary. I’m curious how they’ll do things in Orlando when the soundstages are used a good part of the year for HHN.

Yeah, I don't see Orlando's Supercharged going relatively soon at the moment. I know some folks don't like that notion, but there's a few factors to consider.

In the chance Universal is eyeing whatever is replacing Supercharged in the Tram Tour as a replacement for Orlando's...they're most likely going to wait and see what the reception is before giving Orlando the green light. After all, they got themselves into this mess by building for both coasts at the same time, only to get a heads up from HW that it was not going to go well over here.

However, another possible factor is the replacement in HW is something like a big movie montage a la' the Great Movie Ride. If that happens, then that's not coming over to Orlando. (Sorry to those who've wanted a Great Universal Movie Ride.)

So ultimately, Orlando has to wait no matter what on this.

Orlando is a whole ride…. They invested way more money into that version than this one. I want to say that stays for a while lol.

The moment it becomes clear if the HRRR replacement is a Fast & Furious coaster, the closure of this attraction should be announced, and its total demolition should then soon follow.

The only scenario where I'd accept some kind of a reskin of the general concept would be for a Back to the Future attraction (its earlier version was a simulator, so I would -- grudgingly -- be okay with its next iteration being another simulator).

I highly doubt BTTF is in the cards, however.

I think F&F in Orlando is out sooner than a lot of us expect if everything goes to plan.

Scenario 1 - if USH is just replacing the film (either BTTF or a Great Movie Collage), it should theoretically open this year in USH. Orlando will then have the opportunity to greenlight it based on reception and approve it for sometime in 2026.

Scenario 2 - if USH replaces the film (as above) but is received poorly, Orlando will continue to operate F&F until a few months prior to the coaster. Giving the east coast team more time to figure out what to do in this space.

Either way, I can't imagine this attraction stays for much longer.

Ideally, you would have this reopen in 2026, new coaster in 2027, something in 2028-29, and then Simpsons/Pokémon in 2030.

This all sounds great - but I couldn't see any possible scenario where a replacement for this opens in 2026. The facade and queue by itself are very much Fast and Furious, and they'd basically have to tear down and rebuild most of that I'd assume.

With some creative touches, a queue retheme would only require the placement of pre-fabricated items/props and painting. The actual structure of the building would remain the same. Universal's team is very fast.

Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast closed August 2011, Minion Mayhem reopened in July 2012.

Honestly I could see them giving this ride the Poseidon's Fury treatment. Closing it but not doing anything with this space for a year or 2

Yeah, if the rumors of The Simpsons contract expiring are true, that will likely take priority over a Supercharged replacement.

Supposedly the replacement is in development already.

Now whether it happens in the "current" order things are planned or if something gets bumped up as a higher priority may be a different story.

Are we thinking an overhaul, or brand new ride?

probably just cut their losses and start new. The ride itself is what sucks. Not the IP

Unknown— just “something” being developed to replace it, and I have been led to believe for a 2028 opening while Simpsons closes
