^ On top of that, I heard something that VIP people go into a secret room when in the Stranger Things maze if they're given a flashlight? I imagine it's hard to moderate that maze

Also, I hope someone can confirm that because I've only seen it reported once, elsewhere!

HHN wait time iPads got hacked and started to play porn. Absolutely disgusting.
You say disgusting, me & everyone else found it absolutely hilarious. Several jokes about Hollywood Harry's Terror Tram were made afterwards.

The worst offenders, by far, are Universal Monsters. meanwhile UM is being praised. INTERESTING how that works. *coughBIASOPINIONScough*
We just gonna ignore Universal Monsters faults, or...? lol
Universal Monsters is NOT one of the worst offenders of the black wallz of doom. It has 3 sections that fall prey to it- crypt tunnel, phantom sewer, and post-laboratory finale. It has nothing to do with being biased, the maze is praised because its actually good & the scareactors are on point (for the most part... timing). The only faults the maze has is questionable execution/design choices. Outside of that & the 3 black wall segments, it is far better than anything on the lower lot/backlot.

there's minors at the event.
 <---This.

Its an ADULT event. And it also wouldn't be HHN Hollywood without something controversial happening within the first two weekends. Nobody was hurt, traumatized, insulted, etc... offended? pfft.. get in line. Everyone is offended by everything nowadays. Also, its not like minors don't have access to the internet or movies/tv that show the same thing (entirely or partially/simulated). Point is, it wasn't the end of the world, the event didn't have to purge anything & everyone got a good "OMG" laugh. No big deal.

Considering you need to use your team member ID to access the wait time sign database, it was obvliously a disgruntled or prankster employee (who clearly doesn't work there anymore)

"There is no age minimum for the event. However, this event is recommended for mature audiences only and not recommended for children under 13." age-13, 13 is a minor age.

I thought the iPad hack was pretty funny. If you go to an event that depicts killing, murder and general debauchery but are offended by porn maybe you should stick to Disney's not so Scary Halloween party.

I really hope you're joking. Upon first glance I chuckled (Not going to lie), but once I came to the realization about the many minors that attend the event; It's HORRIBLE and inappropriate! Quite frankly, those you don't see the "opposing" side to this matter are insensitive

I'm not offended by porn... but I don't want to see it publicly in a location where porn shouldn't be shown. I'm sure many people were/are amused, but we all know there are LOTS of under 21 aged people there. It's not appropriate.

This.

Allow me to say, I'm not against pornography...but more of how that I don't think it should be seen publicly in that large of a crowd.

While it's not an event for the faint of heart, it does allow minors and those who would rather not want to see imagery like that.

I'm more amused & curious to the fact that someone was able to breach the security, as that screams to me; that whatever they have is now flawed. I'm more interested in what's going to happen for the next two days, as Universal should be concerned about people being able to tamper with their property like that.

No idea where that rumor started. There's no secret room in Stranger Things.

There are about 5 black wall segments. Three of them are fairly long and unnecessary. TrT is better. About equal set design and scareactor performance, but better scare placements in the design to maximize fright. It's black walls also make sense as place cards to introduce you to the next segment -- terrible excuse to do them, but at least they're not random and they're very short. I prefer HOB as well, but I'll admit that's a tiny bit more subjective to what personally scares me. Objectively, TrT is a better maze this year.

Fake killing via mannequins, puppets, and spirit gum -- nobody ever actually was, is, or will be in danger before the event in the making, during the event while it's happening, or after the event during strike. This is REAL people showing their REAL parts having REAL sex. It'd be equally offensive if it randomly started to show a snuff film.

No idea where that rumor started. There's no secret room in Stranger Things.
From a... different forum. I'll post the quote though:
"The $400+ VIP ticket includes a "Stranger Things Experience". Based on VIP add ons in the past, I assumed this was going to be something in the backlot. Turns out that it is an extra room or two in the ST house (I did not do it; this is what I have deduced). Mid way in the house you come to a chain link fence area outside the Hawkins Lab. There is a van here and a couple of guards. If you are part of the VIP tour, the guard gives the first person in the group a flashlight. Once in the Lab, if the VIP guest shows the guard the flashlight, they group is detoured to an exclusive area. My eagle-eyed daughter saw this happen to the group ahead of us. We do not know where they rejoined."

It sounded far fetched to me, but ya know, it's still early in the run so I figured anything is possible lol

I did the RIP tour and can confirm the only backstage thing we did was we entered SS29 at one end to cross through the line and get to the lounge next to The Mummy.

The experience was the photo ops and a make up demonstration, which funny enough the make up artist was recreating the make up of the nurses from Roanoke last year.

Yeah, I have no idea what they thought they saw. More than likely that was a supervisor leading a guard off-set; the flashlights are finicky, so perhaps s/he was presenting the guard with a new, working one.

I'm not going to prolong the debate about porn at HHN, but I'll say this: It is an "adult" event, but it is treated as a "PG-13" event (Despite the gore, which I feel is slightly cartoonish). Lots of minors are there. Even if it is just a prank, there are lots of kids who attend the event. My thirteen year-old sister loves going to the event with me, and if that popped up in front of her, I would not be happy about that, at all. Not cool.

Yeah, this shouldn't be a debate. X-rated content at an event with minors isn't acceptable. I don't understand why management/operations didn't literally pull the plug on the tech sooner - it was up for a solid ten minutes or so.

Apparently it was attempted again the next night (it was clear a hacking disruption was in the process of happening), but the greeter managed to turn the monitor off before anything unsavory appeared.

One last tidbit, there were TONS of kids at the event this year, most likely due to Stranger Things. There could not be a worse year to try and pull this stunt, unless next year they have a Laika maze or something.

I think it's normal to laugh at it and think it's funny to yourself. But in general, the concept of doing it is not funny and is indefensible. I'm actually shocked there's people here defending it. Somethin wrong with y'all in the head lol
