I’m just wondering what house slash is scoring now that we know it’s not the scarecrow repeat since that already had a soundtrack and I’m fairly sure they won’t have slash do the Latin American house since those also already have a soundtrack and a style that doesn’t really fit the energy slash’s soundtracks bring to houses.

Monstruos, Scream, Terrifier, and Scarecrow seem (from my vantage) to have the most juice at the moment. Would be hyped on all but Scarecrow.

Slash did plenty of Spanish guitar styles for the early Guns N Roses albums. Listen to Double Talkin’ Jive. I could see a certain style used in the soundtrack. Who said none of it can be acoustic?

I stand corrected. I'm not a slash fan so only know him from the UM houses.

I was gonna say, I actually think a Slash score for one of the Latin American houses would rip and be something different from what we’ve gotten before.

I get the vibe that Terrifier is going to be the “Music Score collaboration” house for both coasts. Eternal Bloodlines set the stone for both to do it at the same time—with different artists for both coasts.

Slash for Hollywood and Ice Nine Kills for Orlando feels about right.

Except it doesn't. Ice Nine Kills has a song called "A Work of Art" themed to Terrifier. So it wouldn't make sense for it to only be on one coast

No. Exterminatorz has to be "Music by Figur3" just like the 2015 SZ! Those are the rules lol

Just my bit of spec and thoughts...
- Five Nights at Freddy's (main advertising, too big to ignore, maybe subbed with TLOU or Fallout, but my bet is on FNAF)
- Scream (sub-icon)
- Terrifier (rising cult hit)
- Blumhouse - Megan & Black Phone (too easy not to do)
- Monstruos 3: Island of Lost Dolls & Chupacabra (tradition at this point)
- UCM (like literally y'all, who are we joking?)
- Poltergeist (I honestly don't see them improving on it -- the original was good-ish, I think we'll see one or two tweaks, that's it)
- Scarecrow (the pessimistic side of me doesn't see this changing either -- all the budget blown on FNAF and if we're lucky, maybe we get a new ending)
- Terror Tram: Exterminatorz 2 (Killer Klowns doesn't sound like there's a lot of mobility on such a wide open path for those costumes? People seemed to like Exterminatorz, I see it making a comeback, maybe not quite a maze yet)

I'll believe when I see it. A repeat of a house that we had 3 years ago that's also going to be in Vegas AT THE SAME TIME would be incredibly disappointing. I'm fine with Poltergeist since I didn't get to do that house but Scarecrow? Really? No thanks. Maybe it's a sequel house that's starts off the same as the original and then does something different. Idk. Or maybe the layout is just extremely similar and it's for something else. Who knows.

Honestly wouldn't mind it at all, Scarecrow is one of the best houses I've done in HW and would love to see it come back. Horror Unleashed's Scarecrow is probably going to be different anyways.

While I still am fundamentally against repeats, especially if it’s been less than five years since they’ve done said house, I feel a little more lax on it as I get older, have less time to do all the houses each night I go, and the event has gotten big enough to where it’s not awful.

Scarecrow is an all-timer for me at Hollywood, but I think repeating it would cheapen it a little for me. I will say that the Holidayz repeat was actually an improvement from 2019’s version. I guess it will be nice to revisit it, but it’s not my first choice. At least when it gets too packed, I can skip it if I have to. I did that with Killer Klowns several years ago.

Repeat IPs are fine. It’s when the maze is 1 to 1 with the year before or what we usually get, a lesser version when it’s a repeat. I think that’s how they got a bad name.

Which in Hollywood’s case has seem to be the norm. Even an excellent house like 2016’s Exorcist came back as a boring, mirrored, soulless repeat.

I have pretty low expectations for this, but I guess it probably was best case scenario. No way it was cheap to get the absolutely stacked IP lineup we’re getting.

They probably had to cut costs somewhere, and figured “well we probably gotta do a repeat to save money, everybody is obsessed with Scarecrow and it creates synergy with Vegas so let’s do that.”

At least we didn’t get a repeat of something random and forgettable like *Universal Horror Hotel
