Dark Christmas would be a perfect house, could feature krampus, evil elves and whatever else Christmas legends exist. Tying it to the urban legends name would be a snazzy idea aswell. Lots of possibilities to be had there

Pretty sure if they said it was an Original Concept that it won't have a movie tie-in. Just a thought.

After 25 years and the "Best of HHN" list assembled here last year, I would think that some of you might open your minds up to the possibility that HHN has a few of its own original IPs now. So, what best of original HHN IPs might apply this year? IPs that might be reimagined.

Just sayin...

That's an interesting idea teebin. I would really like to see darker redesigns to some classic characters. Could you imagine a grimmer and darker body collectors? How cool would that be

Well after Dark Christmas last year over in Hollywood, it would be silly not to assume the tie-in with the Blizzard hint.

As far as a Yeti-type house - a certain podcast *Shameless plug* had their host *AHEM* speculate that maybe the Urban Legend series continue with the big creature.

Ya know, now that you're saying that, it sounds vaguely familiar... ;-)

As far as Dark Christmas, that sounds like a high probability seeing as to how well it was received on the west coast this past year as a scare zone. I know when my brother and I were talking about possible ideas for what the code name means we certainly went to the demonic Christmas/Santa/elves idea.

Just a fun fact but in other cultures, my brother had told me that the Santa Claus figure is actually someone that is not Santa but he eats children that are naughty. (It's a German folklore thing from what he told me. He studied abroad in Germany at Christmas-time last year.)

EDIT:

I just looked it up and the name of the figure he was talking about is named Krampus. Go figure...

I don't think "Grimmer and Darker" is more necessary, but reboots serve a purpose and honestly I appreciate Scream 4 just as much as I appreciate it's predecessors. If Universal can create a strong story involving The Body Collectors or Winter's Night I'm okay with that.

I can't speak for everyone, but I have a feeling that a lot of the older fans are okay with HHN IPs, and just think that the whole only outside IP's gets old.

I'm fine with IPs if there done RIGHT...

Marketing went to money hungry with TWD.. Dusk Til Dawn had basic marketing and it worked.

IP's have been with the event since 91 and I dont see them going away anytime soon.

Everything and Everything has been repeated in the Haunt world more then 5,000 times BUT A&D put there own twist on Haunt stuff and it worked..

Every Haunt has a clown maze (Same with Zombie maze) but A&D didnt put there any new twist on like there known for.

I disagree with everything having been repeated and nothing is original in the haunt world, as a blanket statement for story telling, yeah sure.

Yes, ultimately, fears are instilled in humans and repeated heavily, but that doesn't make a story un-original. I can hypothetically write a vampire movie and it be nothing like any vampire movie you've ever seen. That's why Twilight and Blacula can both be in the same sub-category.

Ok I know it's the popular thing to bash on the games and say you never liked them

But am I the only one thinking the whole five nights at Freddys franchise could work perfectly for a hhn house. The basic concept is simply suspense and jump scares and the fact the third game is set in a horror attraction.

Play it up as your new employes the outside would be all sweet, nice and fun with a sense of something's off but the walk through would be the pizza dinner with guys in suits and puppets ala American werewolf with the ending being all the animatronics at once or a final confrontation with golden Freddys or springtrap

I don't know if it's possible but I'm just spitballing ideas

Nightingale's and Urban Legends were created to be IP series so I could see both of those happening. Pre HHN 20 there were a lot more original series running but those were allegedly retired so I am not sure if we should be looking for sequels to those houses unless the retirement no longer counts.

I think Nightingale's is ripe for another house. I would love, love, love a Civil War version of Nightingales.

From a marketing standpoint, it could have the chance of being huge. Build the house, bring in some of the big YouTube video game stars who get millions of views playing the FNAF games to walkthrough and film their reactions, and boom, you have a pretty cheap property to get that could generate a ton of buzz.

These are the most subscribed gaming channels:

While PewDiePie would be the biggest influence, there's quite a bit with 5+ million subs. Plus, Pew has plenty of haters.
