my understanding is that Potter was approved to participate with Dementors and Death Eaters long ago but the HHN teams have not wanted to do it.

It'd be a decent chunk of budget (Dementors are essentially giant puppets) for something not really "scary" to most people.

But is the concept of HHN really to have a photo op with those characters? That seems to be why the team shies away from it.

Throw money at something that'd be neat but tricky to execute and wouldn't really be fitting in the concept of the event.

If anybody wants a really good watch, look up the HHN entertainment designers panel. Has a Q&A with the actors who played Jack and chance and the things they said are insanely inspiring to anybody looking into the buissness. Really great stuff

..you think they'd announce floats of a parade on HHN Orlando's twitter? To keep in mind, John Murdy and Chris Williams are at the Wondercon panel, which they are the heads of Horror Nights at Hollywood.

It seems likely that the year-round house will be announced, due to the IP its rumored to be based off of.

I gotta say, my first reaction with it being in the HHN Speculation thread was "oh god no... are they announcing TWD year round walk through for BOTH parks?" But then, this isn't exactly just an Orlando HHN speculation page... Right?

It may not mean that Orlando is Scott free of it.

Well... It makes financial sense for them, regardless of how burnt out over that property I am. I'll be interested in what they say come the 26th. For now I think it's just safer to assume TWD will return to just Orlando's HHN, not getting the year round treatment. I think that would be a shock to everyone of the year round version was announced for Orlando too.

When you build a permanent house... How do you determine where the queue ends and the house begins? Or at least where to spend the money..?

You can't have the same crappy temporary poles in a parking lot, but if it's well done it's going to rival the house itself... Some rides already have this problem.

It depends on how they approach the queue. Just look at the former HOH at Universal Hollywood. The queue for that was set up like a walk through museum of screen used horror movie props (similar to The Horror Makeup Show lobby, but in queue form). They don't have to approach it like say Forbidden Journey's or Gringotts queue lines.

You know a year round house really makes sense for Orlando right now. They obviously have the experience of building these pretty well down. They could get it put up rather quickly and it would be a nice addition with the shortage of attractions due to construction.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've visited this thread so forgive me if this already been discussed. With all the talk about TWD revisiting the event and possibly being a year-round haunt to Orlando, I decided to google "walking dead haunted house" to see what would pop up. Strangely, about the third or fourth result is the link to the official 2016 UO HHN page, with a description underneath that reads "Explore the Islands of Adventure that include 7 new haunted houses, the Festival of the Dead Parade, and Scare Zones." What's strange about this is that if you just search "Halloween horror Nights Orlando" or anything else, this description doesn't pop up. I don't know if this means anything, maybe it's just a placeholder description (a weird one at that), but I just thought it would be worth sharing.

If that would be true, the prospect of it would scare the wits out of me. Or scare me dead. Or bore me to death. Actually, all three.:bonk:
