Halloween Horror Nights 30 (UOR) - Speculation & Rumors (2021)

I think the Gentlemen will probably end up in the Terra Cruentes zone, but yeah, I don't see why HHN mainstays that work in numbers and without scenic context couldn't populate extra hordes. Stuff like zombies, chainsaw drill team, and clowns are all good bets.

(Remember, we're getting two anniversary zones that will presumably cover a lot of ground, with Terra Cruentes also picking up a few fan favorites.)

Oh, I hadn't heard that it was two anniversary zones for this year. Honestly, I've missed some of the rumors, so that is neat to hear.

Plus, cool to hear Terra Cruentus will actually be getting some use.

They've tried that. 2008 had Fractured Tales, a zone in KidZone proper near what is now Spongebob Storepants and the ET entrance. As you might expect, it got extremely congested. Similar thing happened when they tried to move the zone into the cul-de-sac in front of Animal Actors the next year with Cirque Du Freak. Neat zone, but packed to the gills (similar to the more recent San Francisco zones).

Back when they were doing hordes, I also noticed the actors situated at Central Park would wander into the side trails closer to the lagoon, too. That wouldn't really be possible now since it's the viewing area for the lagoon shows.

But yes, I could totally see a scenario where we have zones in the following areas --

• Plaza of the Stars (Themed/Marked)
• Main New York Streets, Near Fallon (Themed/Marked)
• San Francisco (Themed/Marked)
• Hollywood Boulevard (Themed/Marked)
• Central Park (Themed/Marked)
• Front Park Plaza, Near Hello Kitty/Studio Store (Horde Only/Unmarked)
• Side New York Streets, Near Lagoon (Horde Only/Unmarked)
• Springfield (Horde Only/Unmarked)
• World Expo, Historically Near MIB Store (Horde Only/Unmarked)

Attempting to use London has gotten them into trouble and I believe is considered part of Potter with the Knight Bus. Sting Alley is also, unfortunately, no longer practical.

For those worried about budget, the hordes are usually very cheap generics or costumes they have sitting around in storage. They're an easy way to fill out the park, and actors in the hordes can be pulled to fill holes in mazes and the more prominent zones.

I've always thought it would be interesting to use the bridge between Springfield and London, and the area in front of FFL as some kind of hoard area

Typically there is a huge show that dumps out of FFL, but....if there wasn't lol

I was thinking the same thing about the bridge and FFL, tho the clowns in Springfield do tend to venture right to the end of the bridge typically anyway. Right in front of the MIB exit would be interesting to see considering how congested it gets in front of those two tent house locations during peak part of the night.

We love sitting on the bridge and watching a scaractor surprise people... nice little rest stop towards the end of the night!

I don’t even get why people not involved are interested in the numbers. I get that when there was an actual name for the code name there was more mystery as it was sort of a riddle, but now it’s just a number. Absolutely nothing to see.

9 zones feels really extreme. I feel like it would make the zones not as good either. Quality over quantity but who knows could be great!

Mhm. Can totally agree. Islands had plenty of issues and it's probably nostalgia but I loved the zones at XV so much.

everybody hated on the year that every scarezone was walking dead, but to me it felt really full because of all the actors everywhere. i loved it

Regarding the zone thing.. pretty far fetched but we don’t think that we could be seeing some/half of islands being used?? I know it’s super doubtful but just another idea to maybe why people have up to zone 9? Or maybe where the cross over path was between parks could possibly be used as well?

I think they’ll move the trick or treat search from HHN-lite to Islands, personally.

If we're going to get this tease with no info, time to make some uniformed guesses

I don't see both a Zone and House for Creepshow, have a feeling one of them on the latest map is false. The (allegedly) Final Purge coming out seems like it would be a cool and easy zone to do and not have double the Creepshow.

Pretty sure we're going to be getting a second show, no clue what, but think there has to be something. Something done by either Beetlejuice or Jack would make sense.

And lastly, totally baseless, but since I said Army of the Dead looked like perfect HHN property after the trailer dropped (I know everybody says that about EVERY horror movie) this part of a review about it gave me a chuckle:

“Army of the Dead” has its grisly, super-charged moments, but the majority of the feature plays like a walkthrough of a maze at Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights, tracking the characters as they make their way into the casino and around rooms, trying not to trigger an attack from the snarling enemy.

I can't wait to watch Army of the Dead tonight, I also have a feeling it will be prime scare zone material.
