I think a smart move would be Universal having a lights-on "happy" daytime opening for Five Nights at Freddys on certain days. I'm sure there's designs/props that wouldn't allow for it unless they specifically designed the house with this intent, but it wouldn't be hard to do.

It would be extra incentive to visit Universal Studios while Epic is Open, would require minimal supervision and could serve as a cool little photo-op/walkthrough promotion for the event.

Plus, attending the daytime version would be a cool contrast to the actual house you would normally see at night.

There are no such large conventions happening near that blacked out night according to the OCCC’s calendar.

I’m pinning my hope on that being the upcharge night.

I wouldn't assume there has to be an event or convention tied to a park buyout.

I'm inclined to think it's not a premium night for two reasons - while people who were there loved it, Universal took a substantial loss on the night.

And secondly, I don't see them running a premium night that only gives scare actors 1 night off for the week. I think if it were premium night, they'd just have one less event night and move on.

Express is a premium that allows people the ability to have a better experience. As someone who stumbled on using it for 2022 in Hollywood; and then came back and had both nights be express for 2024 in Hollywood--it has it's benefits and it has it's uses.

That’s the point though. It should be used for 1-2 nights to ensure people with limited time have a less stressful time seeing the entire event.

It really shouldn’t be easily accessible so that “Joe I4” can see Insidious for the sixth time that week just to add it to their “house run count”

Feel like flew completely under the radar - very curious what this could mean.

Setting up for zones would be the only hurdle I could think of for the wristband approach. I'm cool with wristbands, then maybe allowing guests to start queueing for houses around 4:30/5ish.

Directly into the queues instead of the pens, I’m assuming.

The biggest challenge I see with that is preventing people from milling about in front of the portals creating their own lines

Oh god no, because then the sets would have to be tame enough for children which would make the house boring, plus it would feel empty without actors and you’d be able to see all the their hiding spots (as if they aren’t too noticeable already.) It would also take away from behind the scenes sales and I don’t think universal would want that!

Not to mention they're constantly repairing and maintaining the houses during the day, pretty easy to do with the behind-the-scenes tours going on as that's a small, guided group under rules of "Hey, don't touch anything." etc. But it wouldn't be feasible when you essentially have the house open during the day.

You wanna' see the house with the lights on? Hope it's part of one of the behind-the-scenes tours and do that.

Hopefully this doesn’t bode for a further deterioration of the event for guests.

I’m very curious how they’re going to execute the costumes and scares of Five Nights if it happens. Even if the suits are scaled down slightly, how do you effectively conceal the scares?

I'm guessing they'll approach it like they did for Killer Klowns from Outer Space!

It's not that I care too - I'm not even a fan of the franchise. It's that it would be easy to do.

Outdoor section for photos, couple of rooms, exit is through a boohole, walkout.

You could man it with 1-3 people for 5-10 days.

I actually think there's a shot Hollywood might pull something with FNAF on the final weekends, or as part of a AP event.

You say it's easy, but you suggest the guests doing something they're not supposed to do during the event, nor it's something the behind-the-scenes tours can't do either for a whole variety of reasons. They want you staying on the main path provided, no early outs through the backstage.

I mean, see Quiet Place. The answer could always just be "poorly."

I'm thinking Quiet Place-style, a mix of animatronics and puppets. Prime example, we can get attacked by Foxy without ever actually seeing him (the hook coming through a wall).

Wouldn't be surprised if the only animatronic we actually see as a full suited performer is Springtrap.

I’m guessing there will be a lot more “presence” scares and less pop outs. Trying to conceal “boo holes” sounds like a major liability and safety concern... like you need enough space for the actor to make the scare safely. And giant costumes need a lot of space.

I think this house is going to have a similar issue to Killer Klowns and Depths of Fear. Dueling Dragons too. You’ll see the scare before it happens. They’ll try to divert our attention away from the boo holes, but at the end of the day, they’re probably going to be large and noticeable. It’s one of the reasons why I’m not super excited for this house. I’ve never liked the houses with giant costumes.

I feel like in order to “sell” the house, they’ll need to compensate for the predictable scares for some cool effects and animatronics. Hollywood’s Chucky house is a great example. While it was t strong on scares, the AAs did a great job carrying the house for the “cool” factor and basically making it a good dark comedy house. Orlando. Oils really benefit from Hollywoods AA team in this regard.
