the current state of horror seems so bad for houses.... Megan is cool and all but Im not sure if it will translate that well. I'm not hating on Megan as a movie, but I don't know how good it could be, the movie itself isn't scary..
-smile might be a cool franchise, but having actors just smiling at you seems cheesy.

M3GAN has a new movie coming next year so I’d hope they’d have enough content between the two films they could get a house out of it.

My thing with Smile is that I just don’t think regular looking and dressed people jumping out at you while smiling would be very effective or interesting at all as a house.

Universal has always attempted a 5/5 split, give or take dropouts or last-minute changes.



Considering the rumors of scare zones shuffling it wouldn't surprise me if the characters got kneecapped somehow. I just don't think Universal can really do the old school "icons" anymore, instead we'll just get more hybrids like Pumpkin Lord and Dr. Oddfellow.

my understanding is that there was an issue of alignment between various departments and that eventually led to the disjointed/confused feel many got from the event.

Yeah part of the fun of Smile is that it was never *just* people smiling, a la Truth or Dare. They do a great job of switching things up and serving up wild visuals.

E.g. the scare at the end of the trailer for the first movie.

I've heard some rumblings that the contracts for many Nightmare Fuel performers are up after this last event, and that the bulk of the Magus Utopia influence was only contracted thru HHN32, leading to the largely magicless Circus that we got. If negotiations don't go as planned with the HNF talent, could we see a new show concept in it's place?

one think i hope for in the future is orlando taking in the reigns and start doing some of their own marketing, maybe marketing the event number, and maybe having their own design for the house shists.

Do we have any thoughts on if we could see Death Valley making its way over from Hollywood? Of course, we originated Dead Exposure, but the Death Valley house was very much just DE in title, not having the same story or even the signature blindness effect of DE.

If they brought it over here, one of two things would need to happen IMO:

• If it kept the Dead Exposure name, of course it would need to have the blindness effect. Simply rewrite the story slightly to say that the facility's power is completely knocked out from nuclear testing, only occasionally flickering back on.
  
  
• Another possibility I think would work fine: Make it a Havoc sequel! I think the setting and story of Death Valley very much felt like Havoc, plus we haven't seen the good ol' Dogs of War since 2013, it'd be cool to see them again. Or of course they could just bring it over as 'TITLE: Death Valley' as its own thing.

I'm definitely curious to see what the event would have looked like if the original rumored/planned zones had come to fruition. I think the event would have been looked at a lot more positively.

March of the Dead

March of the Dead was one of the two scarezones that were featured during Halloween Horror Nights 6. It was located in the New York area of the park. Based on Dia de los muertos, the March of the Dead scarezone celebrates death and honors the departed. This scarezone won the IAAPA Brass Ring...

Considering it wasn’t all that well received in Hollywood (from my understanding), I’d doubt it. Hollywood has better ideas to transfer than a generic super-soldier lab (that Orlando has its own version of).

Here's a thought: would Orlando ever port one of Hollywood's Scare-zones? Thinking about Murder of Crowz or maybe Helloween/All Hallow's Evil. There isn't as much to work off of compared to the original houses, but they have great character designs.

I've always been of the opinion that if any Hollywood Scarezone would be ported, it should be Dark Christmas. Heck, I'd even take it as a house honestly.

I would sob if we got Silent Hill done properly, especially after Insidious this year? I fully trust the team to do it justice if given the proper planning time.

yeah same here and they can totally title it either way"silent hill 2" or "return to silent hill" since the last one was titles "welcome to silent hill"

also I think smile as a scarezone would work since its just "regular people"

Smile as a scarezone is interesting but a) not sure what the environments/set pieces would look like and b) it would run into the Blumhouse problem of all the characters just looking like regular people in the dark and fog really quickly.

Honestly, I'd be ok if they cut some scarezones and just decorated Central Park and the entrance more elaborately.
