Basically, I hope that they're just good enough that people that are in to the franchises enjoy the hell out of them; but are only worth one or two run-throughs (based on wait times) for me.

I've never understood the idea of hoping that 10-20% of the houses are bad lol

I never mentioned it being bad! To use last year's lineup as an example, A Quiet Place was a fine house, very impressive production value, but I was perfectly content to do it twice and let it soak up the crowds the rest of the time because I don't care about those movies very much.

Now if the FNAF house is somehow an absolute undeniable banger despite being based on something I don't care about, like Exorcist Believer or Insidious, then I'll have a conundrum on my hands. But if it's only at the level of 'good', it's a win-win in my book.

It's about opportunity costs. A house that I consider "fine" consistently having a 90min wait (just because of the IP) is an easy decision to skip in order to hit a few better houses that don't have nearly as long of a wait.

IE: See "The Last of Us" from a few years ago.

Oh I get it, I'm just being annoying I just know people exist who are actively hoping for the house to be bad specifically because they dislike the IP, which is just bananas to me.

Side note - @Legacy - any chance you'd expand on why HHN ops will be a nightmare this year?

Listen I said I live under a rock! ahaha I'll watch both at some point and report back. I'm the sickening kind of person who prefers newer films though lol (usually)

As for the discussion rn of people who hope a house is bad because they don't like an IP, that's nuts. Why would you want to dislike something you're paying for? People like that I feel like are the kind who wouldn't admit even if they DID enjoy it lol
My husband and I didn't like the idea of Exorcist Believer coming when it did (we just aren't into Exorcist movies and we had SUCH low hopes for the house). We were so blah about it leading up to it, but that one honestly blew our expectations out of the water and we loved it. That house ended up like number 4 or 5 on our list after we ran it. And we're GLAD. We pay too much for HHN to not wanna enjoy every little bit of the event Universal has to offer. I have no intentions on ever watching Terrifier (I've read the full synopsis on all three and it's just not my thing at all) and the house is likely to be on the bottom of my hype list once we get all the announcements, but I don't WANT the house to suck. I WANT it to blow my mind and I WANT to like it so much I wanna run it twice, three times, etc. I want all of HHN to be great.

Edit- I get the desire for popular IPs you don't care for to eat up crowds lol I'm just talking to the fact that there are people out there who hope an IP sucks just because they want a property they don't like to be a flop. Almost like a weird "I told you so" (NOT saying that is any of you. Bet those people are all overrrr the FB group though lmao)

I mean, it releases during the event, we know Grabber is a huge hit with the general public from Blumzone last year, it'd be some extra good synergy alongside FNaF... Just a thought.

They announced the closing date is either August 17th or 18th - I've seen both dates!

I'm all for the "relocation" of Stay & Scream to an indoor soundstage area if it means less stress on the ops team to set up and dismantle the NY area each night. NY S&S is exploding at the seams each night

I feel like there's a fair amount of hypocrisy here in how some are interpreting these "rumors" - people complaining and insisting "nothing is confirmed!" for things they don't like, and "well x is absolutely happening and y isn't happening" for things they do like.

You can't have it both ways!
