HHN 23: Cabin in the Woods

So I just saw the movie last night.

The ending kinda bothered me, couldn't the director be the fool they wanted for sacrifice and the crazy zombie chick the virgin?

Well...

You can't sacrifice something that's already dead, so no go on the zombie chick. Besides, the virgin wasn't necessary in the end. Good question about the director though.

You DID see the movie, right?

This is what the Merman from the film looked like:

Such a funny scene

I know it's a moot point and was joss and writers story, it just nags at me. Did I want the happy ending, I dunno.

Were they not placated with all the carnage otherwise either?

Well the whole point was that it had to be ritualistically offered up, with the intention of pleasing the gods. Marty was so disgusted by the whole thing that he'd rather have the world end than continue to rehashing these rituals over and over. So, he didn't want to appease the old ones. Thus the director's death doesn't count. And the carnage elsewhere wasn't done for the old ones either.

It's all a big commentary about Whedon and Goddard's distaste for the state of the modern horror film. Specifically torture/gore porn.

Yes I saw the movie Just showing you another version, I am sure they would have to keep the actor off the ground unlike he was in the movie, on the ground I have a sad feeling he may get kicked. Should be a good costume though, i bet very hot though.

I wonder why everything has been quiet about this house???

I agree. The anticipation is killing me.

Universal set dressers were not allowed to work in this house I heard. They brought in people who worked on the actual set of the movie for this one. Therefore, that's why everyone is being so quiet! Plus, I'd assume they want to keep at least one of the houses devoid of details. Why not the second most popular attraction at the event?

Wish I wouldn't have looked. The house looks stunning. Definitely still my most anticipated.

Thanks for the picts, very cool. Wondering how this house will end. Kinda hard to mirror the movie for the ending.

So on the tpr video when he was explaining this house he talked about they may have previous hhn characters in this house.

As you journey through the cabin and into the facility, you’ll encounter the iconic creatures from the film that we know you’re dying to meet.

And yes, there will be a merman. Blowhole and all.

My thoughts:

The facade looks great but my main observation is with the second picture. Some have said that in pictures for HAVOC they've seen Mary Agatha, which is a bizarre appearance if that's true and she shows up, but with comments that say that HHN Characters will appear, I think I spot 2 potential characters.

1. Mary Shaw (Dead Silence): This prediction is based on all the puppets and some look familiar from pictures I've seen from that house. Plus maybe by reading here "poem" is what sets her free.

2. Chucky (Child's Play): Again with the fills but the doll that stands out to me is the second from the left with the scar over its face. Plus his speech that put him in the doll makes since to be used to revive him and have him be the thing hat kills the teens.

Should be interesting either way.

I walked through this house early last week, lights-on.
There are SO many dolls in that room. I think it'll be hard to pinpoint any exact one in the dark and at the pace you'll be walking through. If I remember correctly, there's two rooms you walk through with all the dolls and props.

Pretty sure he's the puppet on the left. Which would mean Mary Shaw is a reused HHN Character in the Cabin In The Woods (Possibly) as seen in this picture on the left.
