I'll say hospital; it'll give the team the opportunity to utilize a lot of the scenic elements from hospital/asylum settings we've seen in previous mazes (I'm not saying this in a mean way, I promise).

lol I'm being very optimistic about Leatherface. Last year, I was very apathetic about both TCM and Halloween, since I was more excited for AHS, Exorcist, and Freddy vs Jason. Yet those two mazes blew me away and honestly were better than all the other TCM and Halloween mazes from 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, and 2015. I just know Murdy will probably put a twist on the maze

I was waiting to see if that be brought up, but that I'm also hearing that date aswell, and that includes the Persian courtyard.

Honestly, I'll believe Leatherface when I see it.

Edit:

It depends on how elaborate they may go.

If memory serves me right it should start sometime this month; as they will need to set up certain elements brought in last year.

I would expect a similar to almost exact route of last year, and that'd exclude the long hike used from 2009-2015.

If I was to guess,

Whoville - Chucky or Jigsaw
Bates Motel - Halloween
Road leading to Psycho House - F13
Storage Tunnels - TCM
WotW sets - Noes
Finale - Freddy, Jason, Michael and Leatherface scaring guests (potentially including Chucky and the Pigs from Saw if they're on the tram).

Guessing, but that's what I'd guess.

I'm sorry, but I've never heard of the "left path" and "right path" in last year's Terror Tram until now. What was that? Because I didn't do the Norman Bates photo op last year and I assume it probably had something to do with that.

It didn't start until last year to my knowledge, and it had nothing to do with the photo op. What happened is that right after you passed the Psycho House, the pathway (which was a shipping crate tunnel) narrowed greatly, and created a huge bottleneck. There was sometimes a 15 minute wait in a gigantic crowd just to get past that point, which was ridiculous.

So to help with crowd control, they hastily added a parallel path. While it did greatly help the bottlenecking problem, they clearly weren't really prepared to have a fully themed "second path", so it didn't really have any notable set pieces... those were all on the left side only. Hence, a lot people missed out. But there was always a team member telling which side to go, you didn't have a choice in the matter.

After that debacle, I'd hope they learned from their errors, and if they have a second path, it would be equally themed. Because from a crowd control point of view, it did work out well. They were just very unequal in terms of effects and scares.

The Jurassic Park Overflow is not going to be used for the Blumhouse oriented maze.

People, have said; that it will be located at the Parisian Courtyard, which begins construction for it's house on the 5th along with the Waterworld queue.

So at this point, then the last two mazes to start construction are the 747 one and the FDTD, though I'm not sure if anybody knows if they moved that huge pile of dirt that was still there.

At this point, yes. IU hasn't exactly posted images of recent changes to it (which would be helpful @Jonathan and @Tyler Crouch) so we don't know how much dirt is left to take care of of filling up the Falls Lake.

I think it's possible that the Backdrop Tent could start before though.

I heard that the Pile of Dirt has been moved and the tent for FDTD has appeared.

If we are going to get an announcement for Evil Dead, it will be at San Diego Comic Con sensically; as Ash v Evil Dead will most likely be marketed at the expo for it's third season coming in the fall.

As for other matters, Jabbawockeez could be announced beforehand like Last year; I don't see Leatherface but if it is coming, it'll be along with the Titans of Horror Tram and that I'd imagine that the next announcement is for Jigsaw and not Insidious.

If Insidious is an exclusive, it will be saved for ScareLA or Midsummer Scream (and that Murdy will be at each event for a panel this year).

As for Blumhouse, if Orlando doesn't get it, then I see it announced at one of the conventions aswell.

If Deatheaters are coming for Hollywood, it will be it's own announcement; as they will most likely bring in Halloween theming if they do that for this year. Otherwise, I see Hogsmeade staying as it is.

I've always imagined Blumhouse being the last announcement. Considering how fans can be quick to jump to conclusions or complain about a certain choice, especially how a lot were borderline tantrum-throwing when they found out Asylum and Coven were not coming this year. I feel that John would want to take as much time to explain the concept of the Blumhouse maze, like why they're doing it, why certain movies were chosen for it and others weren't, and how some of the chosen movies could incorporate elements to scare guests in a live attraction.

EDIT: I thought the JP queue maze (Insidious 4) was supposed to be the next maze announcement.

If it's an exclusive, I'd bet it'd be announced at ScareLA with him, Chris Willams, and Jason Blum on stage to talk about the creative process of how they locked down IP's, how they will tackle the house; and that it'll announce that there will be a Gauntlet Finale that takes over the Paris area.

Did we ever speculate who the guest star for the future maze announcement video was?

I feel that as soon as we get the first trailers for Jigsaw, Insidious 4, and the possible Leatherface, we'll all be able to better speculate how the outlines of those mazes will be like and what characters will be present in them.

It's heavily rumored to be the next maze announcement and I do believe it will be.

I kinda believe we will get three Announcements this month being Insidious, Blumhouse, and Ash Vs Evil Dead. For Insidious to be announced around some time this week and Blumhouse to be announced Mid July. And then Ash Vs Evil Dead for SDCC.

I was trying to figure out the order of the announcements, having taken into consideration that some will be announced simultaneously with Orlando, meaning I assumed that our exclusives could easily be announced first, but you all brought up some good points with SDCC, Midsummer Scream, and Scare LA.
