So, just got back from this, and... I respectfully disasgree.
I thought that was an absolute blast from beginning-to-end, an extremely bloody slasher with great kills, two main leads with great chemistry and characters that while at first seem easy to dislike, you genuinely start to care about them as the movie goes on and they open up and become more vulnerable with each other.
Amazing killer design with an instantly iconic mask and FANTASTIC outfit, plus the first time in quite a while that the killer (to me at least) had a genuinely intimidating presence. My only real complaint about the movie is that the killer reveal felt underwhelming, although I suppose for at least two of them it's meant to be. I think I would've liked it more if they had an actual motive besides 'we love killing', but oh well.
Also the movie is surprisingly really funny, lots of good laugh-out-loud moments, largely thanks to Mason Gooding's comedic timing and line deliveries. Try to see this with a good audience if you can.
All in all, very much enjoyed it, would be very happy to see a sequel happen (would also be happy to see this as a house. Unlike Thanksgiving, every scene with HEK is a full set piece, and each one I was literally envisioning a walkthrough house scene).
