Not to derail the convo too much, but that director's other two films (Caveat and Oddity) are both bangers as well.

I’m coming back from SXSW now and saw Hokum a couple nights ago. It is genuinely one of the few movies that has made me terrified in a theater and squint/look away (think Insidious but nonstop tension/jumpscares). If it’s a hit this May, I think it’d be a great way for Neon to start getting involved in HHN.

I try to share both with whoever i can as i feel McCarthy is someone to keep an eye on.
Oddity is a better movie (with a legendary cold open), but Caveat is more frightening imo.
Very excited for Hokum; Looks like 1408 had a baby with Don't Be Afraid of the Dark.

I think Damian will eventually make something or other for Blumhouse and that'll be the path for him at HHN.

Man… From would be a twistedly great haunt.

Shame it will never happen…

EDIT - Sorry… I didn’t realize I was riding this horse this hard.:lmao:

I’ll throw Agents of Mystery in for consideration as well.

With a movie officially happening, I think Bloodborne if done right could be a GOAT contender.

Only problem with Bloodborne is how much you'd have to leave out, which is a great problem to have. Genuinely difficult to figure out what to include in a greatest hits maze.

It's been discussed a bit with the initial spec, but Resident Evil Requiem would be an absolutely phenomenal house. The Care Center feels tailor-made for a walkthrough haunt.

This one is for the music buffs.

I was recently thinking of Tool as one of those bands who have a good potential for a house based on their music videos like “Sober,” “Stinkfist,” and “Schism.” Maybe include one song that never had one like “Jambi.” I thought cause their videos are very surreal, creepy, and eerie.

“Schism” is their scariest cause it avoids almost all of horror tropes and cliches that instead goes for an unexpected, anthropomorphized alien approach wherein the unearthly characters tear down their own bodies in a stomach-churning detail. No jump scares were needed, just creepy weirdness of a race all too much of the same to our own staying area through slithering body torture is the kind of unsettling picture that grabs ya for a long time.

The only thing I’m questioning myself is this: Can it really work by execution? And for a little fun fact about them related to my concepts, they’re among the inspirations of The Jungle House series.
