Howl-O-Scream 2013 Speculation

I was told by our guide that those tours can be a little crowded and you are at the mercy of the group, if they do a lot of bathroom breaks, drink breaks, or just a bunch of slow pokes. Just a little heads up.

Thanks for the heads up. I've done private tours at Universal and they were very easy going. The location order was definitely dictated but the guides were very malleable. I'll see what I end up doing. $70 for event ticket and express is dirt cheap. I know in 2009 it wasn't necessary, but in 2011 I wish I would have had it to re-visit houses.

I went the first and last weekend last year and they were both pretty packed, of course that was a Saturday and Friday. The preview weekend once our FF time was done we didn't do another house because the lines were insane, but we had done them all by then anyway with one repeat.

In 2011 I went a night that Hillsborough had out the next day. We ended up seeing all the houses before 9 due to Fright Feast wrist band. If we didn't have that we would have missed a lot. In 2009 I went on USF night and had very few issues with houses. I think we even saw some houses twice that year.

If you don't do a tour the Fright Feast Dinner Show is a must!!!!

Not much of a online store that I remember but their merch must be taking off as they said they were adding another store. And yes their merch is a lot better than HHNs.

I'm pretty sure we'll do a tour. Even the least expensive ones are not that expensive that it's not doable. Although I hope we do the top one.

Good tip. Definitely wanna do the top VIP tour, not just for all the perks, but for this as well  Especially since we'll probably only do one night... Go big or stay home

BTW, here's a couple more screen caps from the end of the video:

BTW, someone pointed out on the HoS Facebook page that the Alone house name has been revealed. Checking under the Evil Upgrades > Front Line Fear > Details... at the end it says:

Not valid at “The Experiment” house.

EDIT: And on that subject... Does the Ultimate VIP tour package include the Alone house? It doesn't say that it doesn't include it... OF and others who have done this, what's the deal with VIP and Alone?

No it's not included, but everything else is included with the ultimate VIP.
I am glad it looks like they are changing it up, but not so glad I will have to fork over the cash to check it out...

Nice find!:sneaky:

We've always had great luck with the Thursday night 4 pack deal. Reasonable wait times, you can enter at five or six and starting riding coasters. They bumped it up from $20 to $30 a person this year, but that's still really cheap.

Sup every1?

I'll finally be buying my park+event tickets tomorrow online. I will only be attending on October 3rd (Thursday). SO what is the best option for me? Last year I got a vacation package but I know those are a tad more expensive. Also had to include the HoS ticket plus Alone plus Fright Feast.
For this year how about the Howl-O-Scream - Thrills & Chills deal? Will that work cheaper for attending on Thursday morning to the park and then stay inside for Fright Feast? The tickets "offer details" are so confusing on the HoS website.

I see Circus is back. I liked that house. How about Zombie Mortuary? Any ideas on how many houses and shows?

Thanks!

Cheers!

HOS usually only changes two houses a year, Blood Asylum, and Circus of Superstition were new last year so they will be back with some slight tweaks. Vampire Casino is most likely gone, hopefully, along with Nightshade leaving. Nevermore and Zombie Mortuary will also be for another year.
It looks like Alone will be a new experience this year, after three years of being the same.

As for tickets
Thrills and chill looks like a good deal even if you only use it for one day, as it include the BGT daytime and HOS, and then just add the FF and The Experimental House (former Alone) on to you ticket order and I think you should be set.

Be advised that HOS's houses or Scare Zones (if they have any this year) are not as detailed as HHNs, but their hordes are better the houses are still fun.

Ive only been to one haunted house before and that was Angelus down in Hudson and I barely made it out of there alive  I certainly won't be worrying to much about detail lol[/QUOTE]

Lol I'm sad I missed this post way back, I volunteered at the Angelus house a few times I actually live like 5 or 10 miles away from it.

Theres to be 8 houses this year. 1 up-charge house(The Experiment), 2 new houses (Death Water Bayou and The Basement), along with 5 returning houses(Circus Of Superstition 3D,Blood Asylum,Zombie Mortuary,Nevermore, and Ultimate Gamble.) Scarezones are suppose to return along with the roaming hoardes. The 13 icons are to be scattered into the event whether it be a house or the streets.
