The movement of the raptor looks terrific, and the sound design of the experience appears to be absolutely top notch and scary. The actual look of the raptor, however, is a bit of a mixed bag, I think. It looks fine in that official video Universal put out, but some of the pictures floating around have not been terribly flattering. It appears to be a minor step down from the Singapore raptor; this Orlando counterpart is ever so slightly more cartoonish. Something about the coloration and the arms.

All things considered, though, this looks like a really cool addition to Jurassic Park, and maybe if it's successful, we can get another couple dino encounters (whether meet-and-greets or actual, continuously operating paddock displays) scattered throughout the land.

I am somewhat reticent to say I concur... but I hold out hope that the actor will keep it moving more, learn how to point the head downward at the guests and the audience will be kept well back from the edge to sustain the illusion. Right now, I must say that it looked better through branches.

I have to say I agree with this assessment from what I've seen studying the videos as well. I won't be down there til HHN, so I'll make sure and check it out in person. I'm sure they'll have most of the bugs worked out by then. The coloring and the lack of blinking eyes makes this raptor look less than real too. But it's early! Bravo to UOR for breaking this out...this will add much more life to JP.

Nice 25th Anniversary addition. I was so critical of this. Doesn't look too bad.

These things take time. I'm very pleased with what I've seen thus far.

I went to this yesterday, very excited for it! However, I feel as if it was a little bit of a let down. Yes, the Raptor looked amazing and the sound effects are what truly sold the experience. Yet, I feel like overall it was lacking, the "queue" were some temporary switchbacks in the full sun with 3 dinky fans to cool everyone off. I loved the little recording of the man talking about the Raptor and giving little facts, as if it were a zoo. I just feel like with such the big area that they had, they could have done so much more. To me, I felt as if this was thrown together. Alas, that is just my opinion. Don't get me wrong it look great and is a great addition, just a little lacking.

I really LOVE the concept and area theming. Damn it's good.

But the way that raptor looks? It's not that great and looks like a JP knockoff. They got the motions down which is very impressive, but it's like they never stopped to think about the look.

Post Harry Potter I really expected more from creative.

I think Singapore's looked better. Maybe the videos aren't doing it justice.

Someone was paid to sculpt this and Universal creative approved in in 2015. Really?

I wonder what the chances are of them re-routing the queue through the highly immersive Trike queue instead of the horrible switchbacks?

People in the twittersphere, who I often find overly critical, were praising what they saw today. Looks like a winner in what I suspect is really a "phase 1" type of deal.

If Jurassic World opens like it's current projections (100-130 million), I think we'll see quite a bit of changes in the area.

It's so awesome I seriously love it. So much better than a lazy static figure or something like that. It's like a badass tales with belle. It's also such a cool throwback to early IOA, adore it

Needs a trainer to talk it up, make it seem more scary.

i wonder if they could have had one or two static raptors on the back,
the raptor suit is awesome but it feels empty. i dont know, i think i would have loved if they had some static raptors behind the puppet raptor

That is the plan. They may have started the actual two performer shows today, but I am not sure.

They were wrapping up when I got there this afternoon, so I didn't really get to see much of it.
