Jurassic World VelociCoaster Construction Thread (Opening June 10)

Any ideas on what's going on that new cement railing right in back of the heart-line rail? You would think it would say Jurassic Park but that's already on the discovery center behind it

I've been waiting to see what they put there, no conduit in the wall I can see so no lights?

I mean.....if it looks virtually done scenic-wise and it's safe enough for actual people to ride it....I think a May soft opening is VERY feasible. However, this is Intamin so I'm sure there will be some surprise technical issue.

What don't you like about those? I think they really sell the illusion.

Everyone I have pointed the fake waterfalls out to thought it was a great effect (non-theme park peeps).

Didn't say I disliked them. Just that this is a big improvement over the artificial falls. They serve their purpose, but it's not anywhere near the impact, or look, of the real thing. Universal out Disneyed Disney on this feature.
Twenty years ago the falls would probably have been reversed. A good example of how far Universal has come with their theming.

Real water would have killed the illusion for those couple waterfalls in Pandora. I don’t think using real water here is “out Disneying Disney.”

Those fake waterfalls in Pandora are one of the coolest touches in the whole land! Plus there's an actual (quite tall) real waterfall coming off one of the floating mountains, too.

Waterfalls of any size, in any location, at any Orlando resort, I'm all in favor of.

I don’t get this... the effect they created for Pandora to sell the “far away” waterfall was brilliant... and the land is filled with real waterfalls and water throughout...

Why did this random comparison even come up?
