I'm sadly assuming that Bake My Day will just have the same standard baked goods that are at every other Universal dessert shop lol.

I wonder if they close the sweet shop at the front of the park and replace it with more Studio Store space.

That might not be a bad idea. Although I wonder how big the bake shop will actually be!

One year later and I haven't forgiven Universal for this.

The eateries in the Classic Monsters land at EU will blow the Monsters Cafe away. Back to the bakeshop. Will the baked goods be carbon copies of what is sold at the other Universal parks, will there be entirely new menu items, or a mix of both?

I never got to experience Monsters Café despite having many opportunities to do so around that time last year. While this was probably the correct move, any kind of advance notice of its closure would've been very appreciated...

If you're talking food, that's a defensible statement.

In terms of theme, it was heaven for classic horror fans.

I personally wasn’t over the moon with it’s theming and just feel like we’re going to get something even better at Epic so this is what it is.

I know people who liked the new menu, but the inside always felt very like everything was covered in epoxy or a film of fryer oil and was kinda sticky to the touch. Does that make sense? I think a proper monsters restaurant will be better, and a proper monsters museum would be great.

Pretty sure most people who went to the parks agreed, it was almost always dead in there. In fact, the only reason I would usually go in there was to use the Freestyle machines since there was never a line for them unlike the ones at Bone Chillin'.

I still liked the theming though.

The inside was definitely stale but the BBQ was a nice change of pace from the burgers/chicken tenders/pizza in the rest of the park. I actually really liked the brisket.

But that's the thing... the Cafe basically doubled as a museum of sorts. Whatever the eatery in Epic Universe ends up being, it's certainly not going to be filled with posters, artwork, photos, behind-the-scenes artifacts, or the classic trailers playing on a loop. It's going to be an in-universe restaurant.

So if I liked dining while surrounded by incredible, colorful artwork from the likes of guys like the great Basil Gogos, there's still going to be a void.

I think moving the Monster appreciation stuff to the exit store of Mummy would be nice. A Monsters Tribute store.

We enjoyed the room themes, the old scenes on TV, and the Updated menu the last few years it was open. The BBQ items seemed similar, if not the same, as the BBQ items in Hogsmeade's Three Broomsticks. .

perhaps my memories of it are too fuzzy at this point, but as someone who's a big fan of the classic monsters, I was pretty disappointed. the food was what I expected, but frankly I thought the interior design was just ... tacky? I wasn't wishing for its closure, but I can't imagine I ever would have visited again.
