Yes nobody really wants to wear helmets and they make the lines even longer with everyone trying to get the damn thing set up and Adjusted

Not exactly. There are ways that you can pull off Augmented Reality goggles/Virtual Reality headsets that would be fast and quick. I mean, considering that Universal Studios Japan handles its Virtual Reality extremely well (Look how Kyary Pamyu Pamyu is handled where its a continuously loading attraction with a conveyor belt).

It matters on execution, staff operations, and the theme of. Not to mention the quality of the visuals seen from the VR headset, it has factors where you need to toy with it in the best possible manners.

I would say yes. Not necessarily because its sonic but the truth of the matter is its a easy concept to apply to a coaster and add merchandising too. I could see deals being made for Disney to be like add Sonic to your park and you can use him as a main character in Wreck it Ralph 2 etc blah blah blah,

This news however may be relevant though especially in regards to the third park and the IPs used.

This is pretty much what I guessed at earlier in the thread when @Disneyhead was hinting toward something.

I think @Disneyhead was insinuating that there will be an on-screen overlay within the car. The screen will handle some effects, present race/car information and have some guest interactivity, and it'll 'blend' with actual race sets and cars around the attraction.

At least that is how I interpreted that image, but I probably haven't described it very well

If Disney can get Mario for Wreck It Ralph 2 (like has been talked about) they won't need Sonic. They already got Sonic for the first one and they seem to want their own characters to be the main cast anyway.

Disney already pissed Nintendo off with Bowser in the first film.

First I'm hearing of this. I thought Nintendo was close enough to Disney to make sure they did Bowser right.

They didn't and they had to correct Disney multiple times. Then they had the plan for Disney to acquire Nintendo that went way of South. Then Nintendo partnered with Universal Parks instead of Disney. Obviously the mouse did something to irritate Nintendo. That's part of the reason why Nintendo is working to make films in house instead of licensing them out so they don't have to deal with crap like that again.

And yet Nintendo's been pushing Disney Art Academy for 3DS and a sequel is coming for Magical World. They still have some kind of relationship.

Nintendo worked with Microsoft for Minecraft but they still definitely aren't friends.

I think you're assuming a lot of speculation as fact.

Sonic is already in Alton Towers. It's terribly themed but a great little coaster.

In regards to disney/nintendo relationship, I've never heard anything to suggest they are at odds with each other (not saying that it's not true - just that I haven't heard that to be the case, I've heard the opposite). There was a rumor swirling around last year that Nintendo and Disney were negotiating a deal for movies, but then that fell quiet. Then just back in February there was apparently a powerpoint slide going around from a research investigation on behalf of Hasbro to get an idea of what Mattel has been up to. While the PowerPoint focused mostly on toys, apparently one of the slides mentioned that Disney and Nintendo were coming together to create movies - whether that means movies that exclusively feature Nintendo characters or just something like Wreck-it Ralph is beyond me. Not that you can put that much stock into that, I have yet to find the actual slide, so could just be a fake rumor, but now that Nintendo is making noise and putting it out there that they will be making movies I could see this being true. The director of Wreck-it Ralph also recently stated that he wanted Mario in the original, but Nintendo didn't allow it, but now that they have a better relationship it is possible that Mario could be in Wreck-it Ralph 2.

As far as Nintendo movies in general, I really hope Nintendo aims high. Hopefully they are looking at Pixar/Dreamworks level of quality (Pixar is probably in a league of their own but you should get the point), and not what has been done for Pokemon. here is the translated interview for anyone who wants to read (from a popular gaming forum)

Well, it was Sonic, contract wasn't renewed so it's now Spinball Whizzer again. Much like Charlie being closed as that contract ran out and wasn't renewed.

Nintendo also said that they were going to produce their films with their IPs in house instead of licensing them out which is why it is assumed Disney/Nintendo will not be working together.

That is going to be interesting all in itself. I don't think Nintendo is currently large enough to do both video games and high quality films, so I wonder if Nintendo will be seeing expansion in the near future. Separate from that, I wonder when Nintendo says they plan on partnering with others if they are just looking for others to distribute/market whatever movies they create. A lot going on for Nintendo lately. Hopefully soon to be hearing what is being done on the theme park side, they are gearing up for a new console, and now talks of movies.

I didn't know that. That's actually quite interesting. I'd love to see Roald Dahl at Orlando. It would be interesting to see how they would handle BFG if it came with it being a Disney film and being directed by Spielberg who's now returning to Universal as well.
