What are the three dots inside the nostril of the shark? They look like the end of tubes; like they can squirt something.

I guess they could be tubes. I've never seen them squirt anything but it's possible.

My guess is to allow air to escape when he submerges...

I guess... if a plastic toy shark is what you are going for. If it was authentic, then the gums wouldn't be screeching red... they would be:
