Don’t know officially but I’m willing to bet budget cutz. They advertised it as “Now scarier than ever!” We’ve had this ending since at least 2007.

I've never been able to actually confirm this, but my basic understanding was that the projector that facilitated the "dome" screen was either custom or otherwise very expensive to maintain. A critical part broke, and the decision was made to switch to a cheaper ending.

*pitchblack darkness, a few strobes, audio, a random mini projection of Imhotep being attacked by the eclipse (Nooooooo), & if you're really lucky..... FOG..

They could've easily upgraded the ending with that Potter money. It wouldn't take much to give us something better than what we got. Even the "ending tunnel" brake-run into the turn-table finale could use an upgrade to add more to Imhotep's "YOUR SOULS ARE MINE!!" threat.

While I'm not crazy about the size, I do think scanning a park ticket to have them open and close is a big improvement. It's a lot faster than the fingerprint system.

Less space means more people have to pay up

They can say it’s to make them all the same but they could change the size anytime they wanted. They definitely didn’t get positive feedback doing it on HP
I’ve talked to the TMs at the lockets and they told me how many people complained about the size but management clearly doesn’t care

It’s not that management does not care, it’s literally what universal paid for. They could have gotten bigger or different lockers from the vender if requested.
