I get the disdain for the practices behind stars being forced out of the franchise but I really dislike how much people are crapping on this installment before we know anything real about its substance. Kevin Williamson is a huge part of these films and to dismiss his work as crap before we know anything about it is over reacting to the situation, IMO.

I definitely would have loved to keep following the Sam and Tara story, but at least 6 felt like a satisfying conclusion to their story. I’m ready to go back to Sidney especially with Kevin Williamson directing. I can only imagine how many conversations he had with Wes Craven about the future of the franchise.

This movie is being made out of spite. I don't really care if it ends up being amazing or not, what led to this movie happening is just creatively bankrupt. No offense but people have a right to be angry and crap on this movie. As far as I'm aware, this franchise ended with Scream 6. Anything after is just bs

It's the seventh film of one of the most successful horror franchises in history, even if it's not being made for its artistic merits, I wouldn't say it's being made out of spite either. A seventh Scream film was coming regardless of what the cast consisted of.

Obviously you're entitled to approach the movie however you want and I, again, understand why a lot of people have venom for it. I personally think the Scream franchise overall is pretty overrated (the first is a genre classic, 4 was a strong return to form and the rest of them just feature bits and pieces I enjoy but are overall eh for me) so it's not like I'm donning a suit of armor to defend it, just wanted to put in my 2 cents. I don't think defending an ideal needs to co-exist with tearing down the legitimate, good willed hard work of others but I get it.

I like this franchise, but to me, it's really only SCREAM and SCREAM 2 that are canon.

I'm happy to see any new SCREAM movie, but my emotional attachment ends at 2.

i don’t want to put words in their mouth, but i imagine it’s that this movie is being made in the face of widespread fan criticism of how they handled the berrera situation. i don’t know if i’d say it’s being made out of spite, necessarily, but the vibes are Very Bad.

Yeah I mean, like it or not, the producers chose to insert themselves in a fraught political issue in a highly public (and imo ugly) way by firing the lead actress. It's gonna affect how some people think of the next entry.

I'm curious to see where they go with the movie. It feels very "final film". I'm looking forward to it

They also neglected Neve Campbell in an ugly salary dispute for Scream 6.. Just to bring her back in the next movie only because they fired Melissa Barrera. Just everything I've read about this film just screams (no pun intended) desperate and "soulless". We did not need this movie

Don’t mess with Sidney Prescott: Neve Campbell passes on ‘Scream 6’ after pay dispute

“I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream,” Neve Campbell said in a statement.

While I want Stu to be alive just for the "Surprise Sidney!" moment...

I saw multiple comments from fans about them doing the Billy Loomis gimmick from 5/6 for Sidney, but with all the past Ghostfaces similar to The First manifesting into every previous season's "big bad" of Buffy to taunt/haunt Spike in Season 7

that's probably exactly what's gonna happen but that will be so boring. and him being alive won't make that much sense, and it could be messy for the plot, but I hope he's just alive now.

wrong. It'd make sense for Sidney to have psychological trauma suppressed from years of incidents. But this only works if Jill & others get confirmed.

Again, wrong. The original plot of Scream 3 (before Roman) was meant for Stu to be alive & return. They could be revisiting this plot point in some capacity. (Afterall... Stu changed his identity & opened a Pizza restaurant that has yet to be investigated by Mystery Inc)

Another theory brought up was, with the return of Roman & Stu (possibly Billy too), we could see a flashback along with more details regarding Sidney's mom Maureen Prescott.

it makes sense for Sydney to have trauma and see them talking to her ,but the last two movies already did that.

I wanna see him being back and doing stuff.
