I hate when I accidentally call myself the manufacturer of a coaster I have no relation with.

I wish Superman was more of an actual coaster, but Drop of Doom being attached to the side is so unique and the silhouette of the whole thing is very iconic to the park. I’d be open to a replacement, but only if they can find a way to put a full sized coaster in the space.

Looks like Vekoma is the manufacturer. Screenshot 2025-01-06 at 11.02.27.png

Not only that--but it's official as per the documents:
1736190546398.png

SFMM2026's brand new coaster, is a prototype Vekoma Thrill Glider concept.

The Vekoma Thrill Glider--is a Suspended Motobike coaster by Vekoma, with multiple launches and manuvers to give the sense of flight while in a unique seating configuration that is not that of a B&M flyer.

"Thrill Glider Roller Coaster"
that seems like a new concept?

This would be cool if SFMM still kept the trees.

I kind of wonder what the landscaping job will be for this. If Vekoma and SFCorp are gonna go for something more like what Vekoma did for Dollywood with their new LIM coaster.

Man a lot went down the few hours I've been away.

So I dug a little deeper by running googling the specific coaster type. It brought me in to a new Reddit thread and this is apparently a visual of what we're getting:

The riding position looks a little....interesting. Literally Tron but suspended. I don't know how our feet are going to rest as that's the biggest concern. If our legs are just gonna be hanging backwards, that might be a little uncomfortable.

But yeah, cat's out of the bag. I hope we get our Giga eventually (Like by the Olympics) but this looks fun!

EDIT TO ADD: I just realized that if there are no inversions, this could be the park's remedy for Ninja leaving: A suspended coaster that's not too extreme, but just thrilling enough for folks who don't want to be flipped upside down. I really hope they maximize that mountainous terriain.

Am I the only one who thinks SFMM needs to stop building coasters until they can actually run every single coaster they have at the same time, all with multiple trains? It’s kind of a massive problem.

At any given time 3 or so of the most popular rides will be closed because they need to swap out their limited staff, and then every few hours the closed rides change. And most rides in my experience are still only running with 1-2 trains, exponentially increasing wait times even when there aren’t that many people at the park. Admittedly I haven’t been for about a year, but the problem has been going on for a long time

They desperately need employee housing. SoCal is way too expensive and SFMM is competing with four other LA parks for workers. Build dorms and bring in people from across the world like Cedar Point and Great Adventure do.

No, some of us would rather SFMM just fix everything. We don't need this coaster right now.

This was a pre CF merger purchase so it makes sense why it’s coming.
