Wonder if people would have preferred the ride not have an outdoor portion and instead have another indoor show scene with physical props and suspenseful atmosphere.
The outdoor portion seems completely pointless, other than the fact you hear some brief info about your driver's backstory before heading inside. Yes, it's cool to roll up to the gate, but there's nothing else outdoors to grab your attention, except for the chance to cheer at the waiting guests in the queue line as you roll by.

Was amazing to see people lined up in the sun for 5 1/2 hours for a soft they didn't know was happening. It was barely controlled chaos once it was clear softs would start. I went by a couple of times and then spent about an hour in the shade and lined up then.

This ride is another people eater, there was speculation before HE opened that it would not have enough capacity but that has proven false and if people understood how many can ride this in a couple of hours they could have been in the AC all that time then walked up when it was clear it would run today. SMH

Exactly. The ride itself has received mixed reviews.

I mean, a 3/5 is like a 7 to 7.5. That's still pretty positive. I consider mixed to be a mix of bad and great. I've personally seen more positive than negative (from those who have actually ridden it) - especially the local experts and bloggers. Even those with criticisms about the screens still give the ride a fairly good review.

Do fanboy glasses look like Stevie Wonder glasses? Hmm..

Now see.... this comes off as petty. If you don't like the ride, then fine but don't act as if all the people who enjoy the ride wear rose-colored glasses.

What's still surprising to me is that people are surprised it does use screens. Even if you didn't follow us when Hate broke the rumor, it was always known as an expansion to the Kong 360 experience.

I think part of the problem, and many of us did try to make sure this was clear, is to not overhype Kong. It was never meant to be the next step beyond Potter, but another solid attraction to their IOA line-up. It's taking essentially a dated franchise and breathing new life into a well-known icon.

Boo holes were empty for me too. People using phone flashlights to peak in their too which i thought was wicked disrespectful

Yeah, with it being softs I hope the flash in the queue dies down. It was understandable today but in the future I would be annoyed

It has one but not in use right now. It runs a shortened route parallel to the main queue.

On the exit we passed through a hallway with a center railing where people were waiting. They were being escorted in the exit by suits (TMs in dress shirts). I wonder if that is a disabled entrance? Not much capacity there

Being the 3rd or 4th best ride in the resort is FAR from a bad thing. It's too early to tell anyways. The same people who said "gringotts is the best ride in the resort" back when it came out are now putting it 3rd or 4th place. Things change y'all, this is still a soft opening and all the minor complaints such as transitions can easily be fixed through added animations just like FJ. The world will still turn
I didn't know FJ has added animations ... Interesting lol

About 15 new pages since I was on last night, have we as a community settled down a bit? I'm hesitant to go through 15 pages if it's anything like the mixed review, screens, over-hype arguing we had last night.
