Also, here’s the best photo i have been able to take today of the brand new Skull Island road through the netting.

As one can see, the RFID tags are back to being the old black ones, and they are spectacularly tiny, smaller than i thought. No track marks apparent so it seems they haven’t run the trucks yet.

What sticks out to me is the bumpiness. This is not as smooth as i thought it was going to be, which is great! It’s still pretty flat but i’m surprised at the fact they still kept some bumpiness

I gotta see if I can find an old photo of the track.

Doing some searches...

Appears the paths are bigger, more even without the rocks and such, and isn't graded to cause torque on the ride system. I can imagine a situation where it looks the same but once you are on it you'll notice (or best case, still feels the same but won't ruin the vehicles). The uneven terrain appears to be uniform now, so it won't tilt the vehicle or cause it twist.

The road definitely looks the same besides that hump at the start of the road that is no longer there but it’s clearly different because of all that new rock landscaping and smoothing you can see to the side

Also worth noting there are some pink work flags near certain points in the path, those will probably stay until the road is ready to operate again

Was there ever concept art for an overlay of this attraction themed to Jurassic. I feel like I made it up in a fever dream? I kind of remember the indoraptor in it.

Good morning from Skull Island everyone!

I have new photos to determine the extent of the testing so far, and it appears either they haven’t done much testing at all or the testing they have done hasn’t gone well because these track marks are all over the place!! That or some other piece of equipment has traversed the new road

Seems like we’re still a ways away from having the island fully operational.

It could also be signs of them programming the vehicles to traverse this part of the track. Because of the way the RVs move what could be seen here is actually the first set of tires followed by the second set moving differently to swing the vehicle around the turn.

I wouldn't take it as an immediate bad sign.

So not sure if there was a setback, but was at the park today and no outside portion for Kong. No rain or lighting in sight for 100 miles so wasn’t weather related. Anybody else go recently? We’re going to Epic tomorrow and Tuesday but will be back at Islands Wednesday so hopefully it’s going outside again then.
