Ignoring the complaining about being yelled at, the ride description sounds pretty consistent with what others are saying, and it doesn't sound too great

there have been more positive reviews then negative ones. Saying it "doesnt sound too great" is your own subjective spin on what you're reading.

The guy also complained about moving his body to push a button. I can only imagine how much of a pain it is to "turn" on a theme park ride.....

The Smugglers Run sounds like the type of ride that will become better with repeat rides, which is good. But the problem at DHS/WDW, though, is that the lines for new attractions become so long that it becomes near impossible for 'tourists' to get more than one ride in on a vacation trip, unless you want to spend huge segments of valuable vacation time waiting repeatedly for one attraction. This may well be better accepted at Disneyland where most of the attendance is locals & AP holders that can pop into the park often and get adjusted/skilled to the nuances of the attraction.

Smuggler's Run is about as expected but I'm probably going to avoid reading most of the reviews and I'll take it as it comes when I visit.

Now, I pray that Rise of the Resistance is open by September.

I hope it is, because that means it'll be open in December when I go.

Heard a bit of chat about August but I think that’s just high hopes for D23.

I’m heading to Vegas after California but if it isn’t open by then and it opens for softs after, I’m fully prepared to drive back.

Maybe they'll pull a Fantasmic opening at D23 and open ROTR then?

Stop at Vegas first, they'll probably have a betting wager at one of the casinos on when ROR opens.

Count me in the boat that's hoping RotR is open sometime this year, since while I know it won't be open in July when I drop by...I'm hearing rumblings in the family that a family trip to DL could be in the cards for the beginning of 2020, so I really hope it's ready then!

I made that mistake on our honeymoon. Go to California and ride that jet lag for early morning starts and then I can stay awake into the early hours in Vegas. In my honeymoon we were in bed for 6 and not even in a romantic honeymoon way

I'm not going until after RotR is open...if that ride delivers it will be worth the 2+ hour wait...not entirely sure the Falcon will.

Let's hope it does, but what if it doesn't and Falcon turns out to be the better ride?! ;)
