I'm curious to know if there is any media or theming in the launch tunnel? Is there a preshow?

This is a very intense roller coaster. Similar to velocicoaster in intensity but more sustained throughout the ride. I asked several team members which side was there favorite and all of them said the Right Side (Green track).

Part of the queue is still in progress, but it didn't look like there would be screens or content. Still, once you get past the lockers the setup builds quite a bit of anticipation. If you have someone who is afraid of coasters in your group, the last 5-10 minutes of queue is going to be excruciating because you're basically surrounded by the coaster on all sides and it sort of descends into the station from up above. The station (if that's the right term) just looks and feels really cool, like you're preparing for a launch directly out of the VAB (the giant rocket building at the Cape) or something.

Realize this is a question and not a review, but do you get to pick your side in the queue? Or is it randomly selected for you by team members ?

This is a true dueling coaster. Constantly having a train either above you, beside you, or beneath you is so cool, and constantly has you looking in all types of directions.

After the metal detectors there is two separate lines, they're unlabeled but they were allowing us to choose either at the time

Thanks . Curious if they are planning on naming each side , vs just the color.

The roughness discussion in another thread had me a little worried but it wasn't bad at all. VelociCoaster rattles worse and I don't mind it. If you handle VC fine then this ride shouldn't be a problem.

This coaster is pure fun! I hope they maintain the dueling aspect because this ride isn't the same without it. They intermingle more than Dueling Dragons did.

Now onto my favorite ride: STARDUST RACERS. IT'S SO GOOD. It's the same intensity of Velocicoaster but on a much bigger scale. This ride is absolutely massive. The dueling elements are so cool and I was just screaming the whole time man. 10/10 no notes

I didn't get to ride due to downtime, but look forward to it next time. My take from all the reviews so far is second half of Velocicoaster.

Really great ride, and love that once fully operational it'll be a capacity monster. Should be very easy to get on in the morning and later in the evening.

The queue is bland, but you're not going to be waiting there as much anyway.

The ride itself, is fantastic. That surprise caught me off guard. In terms of ride experience, unlike Velocicoaster, I think the first half is stronger? I like airtime so the first half is more of my style lol

Question for anybody, if I fit velocicoaster how does it compare to all other rides in park? Like is there any that might give problems for anyone who’s been? Thanks

Well….this was my final test post brain surgery…and I passed…sort of?

So first off, I love this coaster. The intensity, the Gs, the feeling off falling out of your seat. It’s the type of coaster I would have loved years ago. I braced my head on it, clasping my upper neck which works on other milder coasters like the Mummy and Hagrids. But this time, it didn’t work as well.

Ironically, it wasn’t the inversion that got me, or the launch, but the constant hills. No matter how much bracing I did, I still felt the pull on my upper neck and got dizzy after.

The positive? I did do the ride, and honestly 2 years ago, I would have told you I could never do this again. So I’m making progress and while I’m disappointed I couldn’t hit this up and feel good after, I do still have faith since I’m still walking post ride, even if I’m a bit wobbly.

Stardust Racers for me is a fun coaster, but I am not going to put it in the same conversation as VC because its really not a comparison. I think VC is a perfect coaster and the Stardust has a good amount I really dont like about it. Please can they reconsider that added brake run? Also its so dang loud during the first two launches. When I rode this during TM preview I preferred yellow side, but after riding green a handful of times yesterday, I think I do prefer green. All in all I think the coaster is fun and I LOVE how much capacity it has. But I dont think this is an "all timer" like VC.

My initial impressions after three rides on Stardust (2x yellow, 1x green) is that I like it more than VC, at least from the back row. Stardust’s airtime is relentless and amazing, it has my favorite launch at Universal with the trick it pulls during the first one, and there’s no downtime in the experience like how VelociCoaster holds you for a few seconds at its first launch (both rides are of a similar length despite this IIRC). I also love the roar of the first launch tunnel, and the intangible factor of the racing element adds so much for me. It’s an easy ride to get on due to its high capacity too. If I’m really in the mood for inversions I’d take VC over this, but for an overall experience I’m pretty over the moon for Stardust. While the onboard audio is very hard to make out mid-ride due to everyone screaming, that swell of orchestra you get when going into the first launch nearly justifies it being there imo - it’s so exciting. I also love the station and while it isn’t super themed, the visuals you get of Celestial Park, SNW and the convention center/hotels are pretty great to me (sightlines what?), and if you look behind you there’s this perfectly framed shot of overlapping airtime hills in front of the first hill after launch one.

Need to ride each side more to see which I prefer, but the main thing that stuck out to me is green feels like it has more headchoppers. Trains also look incredible with their lighting package and small details (having a Stardust Racers logo on the restraint is like “why”, in a good way). I wasn’t able to ride Monsters or Ministry when I went on Friday, but so far this is likely my favorite ride at Universal.
