Given that USH has a limited footprint, it's probably in the park's interest to not dedicate too much space to any one IP, even if it's a cultural juggernaut like Harry Potter or Mario. There is a plethora of new potential IPs they could add to the park. I don't think adding Diagon Alley is the right move, even if it is phenomenal.

I don't think it's worth getting too in the weeds on a Potter Expansion Discussion until we hear something from a source we have any reason to trust. It's totally possible we'll see Diagon Alley built in Hollywood ... but I haven't heard nor read anything that makes me think it's imminent. Until then, I'm not going to burn too many brain cells thinking about it.

I do find it interesting how we really have no idea where USH is going

Disneyland had a 3-5 year plan, while we know nothing and besides this rumor we have nothing

People want Pokemon but thats not a real rumor, DK was suppose to come then didn't.....so hoping they break ground on the next project soon after F&F opens

I'd be down

That or Wicked would be cool

If they do HTTY dragon on the tour maybe that will give them an excuse to do some meet and greet characters as well

I'll entertain the thought of Diagon coming to the Falls Lake area:

I'm not sure if that hotel is still happening or not, but if they're still wanting to build it, they would need at least one more significant investment to justify it. Diagon would do the trick. They should make that area what was the original vision for Diagon at USF: Have the full land with Battle at the Ministry attached to it. It would also justify having to take the Hogwarts Express down there.

Also something else to consider: during HHN, there will be a decent amount of people at the park during the day that would love to stay a little longer to do rides, but they'll be kicked out for HHN. Having a Diagon Alley would be great for the daytime people to be "contained" while HHN commences. That way the daytime folks can still stay, spend money, and have fun while not at HHN. On top of that, they can plan their day to do all of the core park attractions during normal hours and then do the Diagon attractions "after hours".

Don't know if they're serious about this or not, but I think it would be a good business move in the longterm.

By the time USH addresses Falls Lake there could be some other hot non Potter IP they might want to add there as well. To me I think Potter is tapped out as far as park usage.

It's technically possible, but you could make that argument back in 2010 when Potter was first rumored for USH. During that time, what other IP could go in that spot that would require a People Mover to get down there?

Even if the remake series does well, people are always going to associate it with the original series.

Ummm....am I thinking of another theme park

HP land in Hollywood didn't draw in as many people as they wanted. Its not against the land but people are putting too much on Potter here

I know its only rumors but I'm so confused why so many want a 10 year old land....we have so many more interesting things they could do but....people just want more the same? So weird to me

HP didn;t draw in as many people as they had wanted because they screwed over their AP base. Don't quote me on this, but now that the AP issues have been ironed out and they "know their places" I think Potter is reaching the profits they wanted, or at least close to it.

The park could use a good indoor coaster, that's what Diagon would provide. It could possibly include a world-class dark ride with Battle. Could they do something else, sure. But what other IP would go in that space that would require a people mover to go down there?

We don't know if we need a PM.

Disneyland is a HUGE park and many do DCA and Disneyland...the Walk from the Tram is literally just to where Citwalk ends. It does not require that if you put a land where the Tram tour Station is now and keep working down. Make a special entrance if need be for Platinum APs and hotel guests but we have a ton of great IPs...Monsters, HTTY, Pokemon, Zelda, other Nintendo, Wicked...hell Sonic or other Video games....how about a Fortnite land Video game fans seem to be willing to come out and support places that host them.

To me HHN signals people want new and variety they don't want more the same...more the same makes you money but people want new. Heck even Disney is giving us a different Avatar land, they even knew sure you can do the same and get people but why when you risk a little and can be rewarded more by improving from the past?

We don't even get Deatheaters....but they want more Potter? How about they do more events in the land they have now. Make a Fantasic beat show...bring death eaters back...make Demtor drones and do a new castle show. Like they have plenlty of land to work with now if they get creative

But like how Fan fest we saw a ton of Anime people, I'm hoping USH is seeing there are other fans out there that want a place to go.....Potter fans you have Florida if you want more

I still think Monsters is the number one most important and best choice for a Hollywood expansion, above anything else. There’s nothing more true and fitting to the identity of USH than the classic monsters, and the culture in Los Angeles is perfect for a dark, “horror” land like this. I think it would be an even bigger hit than it was in Epic.

The only issue is that the best spot for it would be Simpsons, but then it would sort of blend together with HP. It would work great on the lower lot, but there’s no space currently.

I'm really hoping so

The ride seems to be a great people eater. It would give the monsters a place to live...and to be honest...would hope they keep the classic monsters looks here...Epic can keep its newer versions of Frank and the bride. Maybe since Creature movie was filmed here he could get a meet and greet as well

Also it would work well for HHN and maybe fanfest with speical meet and greets like the Wolfman and so on....so thats my number one choices for that area

I don't think Donkey Kong would be a good choice. Absolutely terrible capacity and downtime galore at Epic. Better off with a high capacity attraction somewhere besides Water World.

they absolutely do not need another significant theme park investment to justify building a hotel that they control.

I'm with you. A number of us have said it in past discussions over the years, too, but Hollywood's own version of Dark Universe would just feel... right. Hell, if they don't want to clone Monsters Unchained or Gringotts to keep Orlando "unique," merge the two concepts together into a wholly different monsters-themed ride to anchor the land. But either way, the success of the land at EU has hopefully shown Universal that if there's an appetite for it in Orlando, then there's absolutely one for it in Hollywood.

I LOVE the Monsters. I agree they deserve a bigger presence at USH. But here's my qualm...

Note that I haven't been on Monsters Unchained or watched any POV as I hope to ride it early next year, but I will say this: I don't think copy + pasting Dark Universe in the Falls Lake spot would be of the best interest of USH. For one thing, it's a Kuka arm dar ride (albeit a REALLY good one from what I heard) inside of a dark castle....something USH already has.

Also, it's a bit "scary" for the GP. Something I think USH is trying to stray from. Epic can get away with having a more frightening land at their park because they have all the space in the world to work with. USH doesn't. They need to choose what they commit what remaining space they have left very carefully.

There is always the option of replacing Hogsemede with Dark Universe (Which I wouldn't mind!), but we know that will never happen. I just don't see it coming to USH unfortunately....at least as is.

I could see an alternate Dar Universe make its way over here as a best-case scenario....just replace Unchained with an indoor coaster. Still, I don't see that as likely as I think they would much rather split R&D costs by copying Orlando's rides than building a new one from scratch.

if tourism is down so much that owning your own hotel in one of the most visited places on earth isn’t desirable, they probably don’t need to expand the theme park either.

Or they go the route Disney has been going lately: reuse the underlying ride system across different resorts with a different IP on top.

What?

No no no you need the attractions to stay at a hotel.....if there are no new draws then the hotels will either be empty or barley making profits

HHN shows that the park needs more to do not hotels...people will come when you give them a reason hotels or not. The hotels would be cool for guests but USH is mostly a local park which is why right now if you go a day when its not HHN the parks are empty....Grinchmas brings in locals and then we get to the slow season because for whatever reason they refuse to do Lunar News Years. I mean its not that hard use the plaza and bring in shows, make a food pass and if Panda ever leaves bring it back as a seasonal attraction making its demand go up

But USH needs more things if they just stop after the coaster....good luck because Disney is going to each your lunch
