This is a win anyway you look at it.

I’m glad Chevrolet decided to invest in this decades old attraction.

$100 million for what I imagine to be mostly some pre-fab set pieces sounds generous. Unless I have this whole thing wrong...

Maybe it will be the most accurate simulacra of a winding mountain road man has ever created.

EDIT: I imagine the new story is that we're still on a "sim track", but instead of entering the Lawnmower Man rendition of the virtual world, we are entering the hi-tech, raytraced, physically based virtual word.

As stated above, Disney does bundle costs for projects. $100M could be spent in any way they feel like it. The overhang, ride upgrades, queue upgrades (I hope we get an actual pre-show again), and where I think a lot of money will be spent - work on the ride system and building maintenance (It's a 40+ year old building, there could be anything wrong with it). It's also possible the ride track needs significant work and if that's the case then that would definitely run up the budget.

Then there's probably also money for new post-ride activities and showroom along with concrete work, drainage work, roof work (I don't believe it has had substantial roof work done in 25 years), etc, etc. I think especially with how much materials cost as well they'll go through that money fairly easily.

There's a support off to the left of the main entrance that has been behind work walls for years now... I'd imagine that'll also chip away at the budget

Hard to tell if they've enclosed the speed section as rumored.

Funny, I thought the concept art showed it would not be enclosed. I agree with the below, you see the railings in the concept art, if enclosed you wouldn't see that.

If you look to the right of the new awning, It looks to me like it will not be enclosed, since you can still see the slanted track and it’s railing.

Also small detail I find slightly amusing after zooming in, is that everyone in the photo seems to be wearing a magic-band.

The fact that they didn't spend 10-15 mins on a single TT update is great for me. In addition to Epic, we should be hearing a lot of additional details drop for these WDW projects as work begins.

We already know the best part of this project (redone entrance), so I already love this project.

They spent seconds on Test Track lol. Announcing/reminding people about a lot of smaller things in the form of song was genius.

I'm guessing there's a staircase on the far side of that scaffold and the platform is just so the top of the staircase is at the same level as the interior of the building, instead of having people walk up/down the incline.

Nice big area to stage pieces for removal or installation.

Whatever they do with this is an upgrade by default. Test Track 1.0 was one of my favorite attractions of all time, and 2.0 completely gutted all of the humanity, humor, theming, and energy from the entire attraction. Why they thought that static LED gamer lights, a bland Siri voice over that didn't play consistently, a Build-a-Car experience that hasn't worked or synced properly in years, or a room with nothing but a long mirror were acceptable for the park's major E-Ticket for a full decade is honestly appalling. Test Track 1.0 understood that the gag was "You are the Crash Test Dummy", 2.0 lost the plot and became nothing more than a boring Tron-like advertisement.

Because it was basically a testing gimmick for the eventual TRON coaster. It was their half-assed way of adding TRON without adding it.

The least they could do is sell a Test Track 2.0 die-cast ride vehicle. And bring back the "Crash Test Dummy Goofy" plush.
