Pokémon kinda feels more IOA to me anyways. It’s just a vibe.

I agree, the Lost Continent area feels a bit more secluded too. In the Springfield area of Studios, I think it'd look a bit weird.

Pokemon at IOA, or Pokemon at USF......IOA and USF is like one giant park with 80% of tickets being park hoppers. So, bottom line,
does it really matter. Getting a new IP land is the major plus.....if that's what's happening

In my head, I would have assumed that a Pokemon area as part of a broader Tokyo city-themed environment would have worked best for USF. It could have allowed them to feature additional IPs like Godzilla and maybe a rotating theater for Anime properties. Just like how New York works.

Pokemon will be a tremendous help to IOA if it gets a heavy practical dark ride and a stage show.

As much as I'd love a Mt. Crumpit section, Pokemon will be an undisputed hit. My 4 year old would be THRILLED. As has been discussed on these boards, a dark ride similar to the game, Pokemon Snap, would be awesome

Just spitballing here, but could this be LOTR going here? Timing wise, it coincides with all those rumors of Universal reaching a deal to bring Potter into the UK park. Maybe plans for LOTR there got shelved and moved to LC? LOTR fits with the literary theme (if that's even a thing they care about) and I can't help but to still think it feels a better fit in IOA over USF where I still think Pokemon is needed more desperately there.

LOTR would be the ultimate expansion or 5th portal for EU IMO, but they could probably bring a different version of LOTR to UGB if push came to shove.

I'd love a section like this, but I wonder if the Pokemon Company would be cool with their property being presented this way, rather than getting the full spotlight. I remember hearing that Joanne didn't want other London-based properties filling in the area around Diagon.

Yeah, I think Pokemon is handily the best IP they could access to appeal to the current crop of kids (if my nephews are any indication). But I can't lie-- I'm going to mourn Christmas Island. Building a Santa's-Village-regional-amusement-park-thing with a Comcast budget might be a silly idea, but it's exactly my kind of silly idea. I doubt it was ever a serious contender, but without being able to anchor it to a Mt. Crumpit ride, I really don't see where/why they'd do it.

The major plus about a Pokemon attraction in IOA is that it would probably be an indoor attraction. Mt. Crumpit would be a fun
coaster in another park, but IOA has more than enough coasters and outdoor attractions. An E ticket indoor ride would be a plus
plus for IOA, regardless of the IP, even if it turns out to be an IP other than Pokemon. A big help during rainstorms so you don't have
to run over to USF, or if you don't have a park hopper ticket.

Another outdoor coaster and another kids IP saddled with a height requirement would for sure be redundant at IOA. But it would be ok because everyone would be inside Hermie's dental office getting tooth gems, or watching the multimedia stage spectacular where the Rankin Bass versions of the Jackson 5 perform holiday hits.

Looks like they're starting to clear things from the area. The merch cart over by the Seuss bridge was removed and work walls close to Poseidon's facade.

Pokemon is far more deserving of a larger plot, has far greater merch potential, and will certainly bring in more $$ for Universal. I don't think either LOTR or Pokemon SHOULD go here, so I'm still hoping it's something else entirely.

Tokyo would be a great addition to USF and really spice up the lineup, but Pokémon absolutely needs to exist in its own separate land. I could see a way it could be done like Diagon Alley with the London facade were it still going in USF. However in IOA I think it’ll be better if the land was fully visible like the others in the park.

I’ve thought about it a bit and adding to the Snap ride idea: similar to the Yoshi ride’s egg hunt we hunt for Pokémon using touch screens like we did on HRRR. That way each ride allows you search for different Pokémon each time, and can allow app/wristband connectivit—in the form of a special Poké Ball, purchasable in the gift shop of course—and hunt customization and missions (think different types) through the app in the same vein as what we do with blasters on Villain-Con.

Certainly blue sky territory but man I hope to see something like it, as long as I’m not viewing the ride through a visor/AR.

I hope, almost certainly in vain, that whatever Pokemon ride is built at the resort one day is not "gamified."

Mario Kart is a solid ride even you don’t use the headset and play the game. I’d prefer not having a gaming aspect to Pokémon too but if must have it, I don’t want it with a screen or visor on my fade. It would be amazing if it was almost opt-in like MK.

Let’s try manifesting a non-gamified ride! I’m sure it’ll work if we close our eyes and wish really hard. lol
