The Old HHN 30 Speculation Thread (2020)

Well I don't follow Ifrit, so I wouldn't have seen it unless posted here. I have Creepshow already on my projected "list" (which still looks potentially fairly accurate) I posted here a while back (Halloween Horror Nights 30 Speculation Thread) , so I don't really consider that a surprise at all. And I was just taking a stab at Haunting of Hill House - my point being there will be a TV series at HHN, I have no idea which one it will be, so I was just taking a swing with the caveat that it would likely be whatever Netflix property that Uni decided upon.

It was posted here and @Legacy comfirmed it was Creepshow

Streaming horror TV is quickly outpacing movies on the "noteworthy property" front.

Stranger Things, Hill House, Creepshow, and Sabrina are all relatively new properties that would be a bigger draw than many of the movies that have come out in the same time period.

There very well could be (some might argue that it's very likely), that there will be several large horror TV properties used at HHN in one year.

possible? Sure it's possible. Haven't heard anything regarding it for this year; but a) That doesn't mean anything because I'm not wired in like others, b) It's early and it could always find it's way into the lineup as time goes on.

We also had The Exorcist.

While I see your point I think it’s also important that the exorcist could have happened because it’s a legendary classic horror film. Sabrina is still modern and a bit more extreme with all the “hail satan”

People really think Sabrina is going to cause an issue if it came? The show has plenty of monsters to use along with the devil and the house wouldn’t be hail Satan. The show doesn’t get push back on Netflix from any majority and at a horror event it would be the same.

With all this talk about satanic stuff being used in Sabrina, there are ways they go past that stuff use em in the house without acknowledging them, if they bring the house, the general focus will just been on the characters and some settings, I don't think you have to look into this show fully to understand what they will do with the house, they will just some simple tweaks and here to make sure it accommodates to what it should be experienced as, of course many people will be offended even if it doesn't have anything offensive, people I've known that gone through Exorcist with me have thought the house was offensive even though the house really have much that was offensive, or at least what I saw, it didn't seem tame, it was alright.

I'm not saying it's an actual horror property more so a thriller if anything with slight horror moments, just sorta in the same vein of ST and Haunting Of Hill House, but the thing is, just because Universal tackled ST, doesn't mean they have to tackle every Netflix IP you know, there are other properties that they could for than to try and find a replacement ip since ST cannot be used this year.

Without going too much down that rabbit hole - religion. The sight of ghosts, ghouls, and goblins is more palatable than a religion's #1 personification of evil. I'm admittedly oversimplifying it, but that's pretty much the boring answer. The Fallen is a good example of it.

It is really annoying that there are so many special snowflakes that complain about such a thing. Like really don't they have sth more to do than complaining about horror elements in a horror event. It just looks like they are searching for sth to complain so Universal gives them sth for free

The original idea of Fallen was basically Angels vs Demons until they twisted it up and made it more about the "Light vs Dark". There were angel corpses that originally had wings, but they were removed as it was felt, by Universal themselves, it may have crossed the line.

It’s also important to remember that the event’s design is beholden to upper management more so than guests. And there are plenty of church-going, God-fearing managers at Universal. If they’re squeamish about Lucifer’s presence at the event, it can put the kibosh on stuff quickly.

Ya gotta tone it down for a couple reasons.
1. It's regarding someone's religion.
2. No one complained about the Fallen. Universal made a last-minute change because they felt it was the better play.
