Personally I don't really think this has anything to do with Epic or other additions and is just a normal yearly price increase that was bound to happen because captalism. Blue and Green milk have already been priced at $9 for awhile, and they are a smaller portion size than butterbeer (and taste worse)!

Correct... It just comes off as distasteful when an attraction drops in quality combined with price hikes.

Do you get multiple Butterbeers a trip, or just the one time?
Well I am a local so a trip is just a day. Never said I was financially responsible

But in reality we don't get a ton of merchandise, my kids would rather have a butterbeer than shirts and stuff. If they want something from the parks from a store they save up their money or ask for Gift Cards for holidays and then buy it themselves. So we don't really buy merchandise but enjoy the food.

It's certainly not fun to see these kinds of things, but I'll be completely honest that I get Butterbeer so infrequently that an extra .50 cents for a cup is not something I or many, many other people will even blink twice at. On the scale of Rollercoaster Tycoon-style MinMaxxing, this is incredibly tame.
I began buying Butterbeer less often because of the price increases. Never too young for a "back in my day…!" moment. They've skimped on the foam too!
I haven't had a Butterbeer since it crept above $5 or so. FYI, the 2010 price adjusted for inflation is $4.30.
I rarely get one because it barely feels worth it anymore, and I used to order 2 at a time in the beginning whenever I visited! Instead I'll get one of the other specialty beers or a different kind of specialty drink.

It put a damper on my small accidental Butterbeer cup collection I was creating. I'm sure there's been several most version since this.
