They definitely soft opened for GP today. I just got a call from 17 year old screaming girl that said "I JUST RODE FORBIDDEN JOURNEY! OMG! OMG! IT WAS SO COOL!" You can'f fake enthusiasm like she had either.

Does the fiber obtics just make a swril or do they spell out something? I can't make it out.

I think they spell out Harry potter and the forbidden Journey, since the columns just say the name of the school. It should look amazing at night.

I think things would have gone differently today if there had not been the fire alarm at FJ. I've been told the intention has been to let the GP in at 9 am all this week, with possible all day softs starting as early as Friday. I'm going tomorrow morning and keeping my fingers crossed that FJ behaves.

Yeah, status change!

Haha, Well....I think so. I wasn't close enough to hear what was being said, but they were laughing, hugging and kissing so I would say....YES!

That's a pretty cool story. Back when I worked at Mythos, I had my (eventual) wife and her brother come in for dinner the day before he shipped out for the Navy, while I was working. Feigning a table visit to see how their dinner was, I dropped to one knee and proposed in my chef white's. The whole staff knew, had flowers ready and their server had my camera so he was able to document the moment. One of the gurests at another table even bought us a bottle of champagne!

Thanks for looking closer to the pic Danielle! Crookshanks is $24.95 and the Hedwig Puppet is $29.95 so if I just go with $30 each, I should be playing it safe.

That is true Teebin. They could be just doing some more work and don't want to ruin as much perspective. I do remember of lots of pics of workers standing there in that exact same spot in the past.

Darn frig darn... I just posted something that I thought I was posting here... and yet I posted it in spoilers. Wish I had posted it here. It wasn't a spoiler at all, just a reply to why people are being allowed to videotape the ride and not get in trouble.... darn.

Thanks for those of you that replied that they are moving product bigtime... this is where the products get whittled down, but thanks to JKR and WB... only to an extent. Stamps ran out, chocolate frogs were running out, BROOMS $$$ were running out and some clothing and robes were running out. What a cash cow.

Either they didn't stock many brooms, or people are going insane and flinging money at them left and right from the sheer intoxication of the park...
I didn't expect the brooms (of all things!) to sell out. At least this'll help them gauge what they need to stockpile.

This is me just putting my two cents in:
If you're in Honeydukes and debating on whether to buy the Chocolate Cauldron or the Chocolate Frog, I would say go with the Frog.
I bought the Cauldron and it's hollow. I've heard the frog is solid. They're both the same price ($10) and with the Frog you get one of the Founder cards. So, I would say frog is better than cauldron.
My opinion though, take it with a grain of salt.

It has been very exciting to read this thread the last few days. The main reason we're traveling to Universal for the very first time is for Potter, although we do look forward to exploring other areas of the parks as well. However, seeing all the pics of the shops, merchandise, Hogwarts, etc. etc. - WOW! I suppose it won't really seem real until I'm walking past the Hogwarts Express myself. The only thing I'm bummed about is after seeing the seats for FJ, I know I will probably not fit into them:'( I only have myself to blame for that one though, and there's always a return visit to use as a motivation to slim down more. Thanks to everyone for their enthusiastic reviews. Can't wait for August!

Wow, if any one of you wanted a dark mark moment in the WW.... this is it right now. Central Florida is filled with such black clouds, thunder and lighting. Waiting for the dementors to knock at my door and suck my soul out.

(and I am sure not a few of you wish they would!)

:look:

Haha, pretty sure my friend and I were behind you in line for FJ right after they let everyone in, and talked with you a little (and now that I think about it maybe brent?) I was wearing a white shirt and black athletic shorts.

As far as today goes, everything was awesome. Forbidden Journey was wayyyy better than I thought it was going to be, I had prepared myself for a ride that may not live up to the hype...But I was wrong. it certainly did.

Yep, we had to cut our swimming adventure short. I was hoping it would just pass by, but no luck, looks like it will be awhile. So we all changed back out of our swimsuits...sigh.

Hi, new to the site, but have been lurking for awhile. My mom and I headed out this morning to see if the GP was getting in and left around 9:35am. We were disappointed, but more so when we found out some did get in 20 minutes later, sigh. I have enjoyed all the chats here and look forward to hopefully meeting some of you in the weeks to come. My son and I will be there for sure opening day! We compete for who is the bigger fan, of course Nana gives us a run for our money! LOl What is the thoughts about tomorrow chances? May drag hubby out. Glad to be here!
