Basically the original plan was to have a Harry exactly like Buzz Lightyear/Toy Story. They didn't want to bring the world to life, and if I remember correctly, from what was said they wanted to cartoonize it to some extent. It would have been a stand-alone attraction, and not the expansive area we have a UO. Plus Disney wanted FULL creative control and not allow JKR to overrule everything....Boy are they idiots.

Disney missed the boat in a MAJOR way. I'm so glad Uni got it. They've done such an amazing job with it...if Disney had been the ones to incorporate it into their parks, it would have been a severe disappointment.

Ok I've come to a conclusion. If they're going to transfrom the Sindbad area into Potter, then the stage MUST be used for performances of A Very Potter Musical. XD

I'd be all for that, but unless StarKid does it, I doubt it'll happen. They don't let other stage groups perform it, as far as I know...

Well I'm sure if Warner Brothers wanted to do the HP musical in WW I'm sure they could. Starkid doesn't let other groups do it because of copyrights to warner brothers and J.K. Rowling.

A Very Potter Musical would be fantastic for all of the fans of the books and movies, but JKR would probably wipe her you know what with it because its not "authentic" to the books.

I'll be honest, I tried watching it and I shut it off after a minute cause it was so silly.

I'm alright with the current Potter Musical. The Tri-Wizard Tournament Rally and Frog Choir!

I'm surprised no one mentioned that yet.

Just curious if anyone realized IOA is open until midnight the last five days in December. Also the park hours have been updated through next summer.

Correct me if I'm wrong --- but isn't the week after Christmas the busiest week of the year for Orlando theme parks?

Yes that is the buisiest time of year for the theme parks because it is all condensed to those few days of many people having off and taking those quick vacations to them.

There are actually a lot of references in there that only true HP fans would recognize. So even though it's decidedly silly, it's also very heartfelt and true to the books.

Today I got stuck on FJ for about a minute. And WWoHP was as busy as it was all summer, while the entire remainder of the resort's wait times ranged from 5-15 minutes.

What do you think was driving the crowds today? My understanding is that the parks are very slow this time of the year.

Kinda off topic but ABC Family is playing Chamber of Secrets tomorrow at 7pm, Azkaban at 4:30 on Saturday with Goblet of Fire at 7:30 and Order of the Phoenix at 8pm on Sunday.

It's possible that crowds were due to Veterans Day.

It's just weird how everyone was in HP and everywhere else was deserted. Speaking of Veterans Day, the parade UO had was very nice.

There are tons of people who'd take the opportunity to go to the Wizarding World on a day off, I'd like to think. But I don't know, it's the only reason I can think of that the crowds would be larger than normal.

That makes sense. I'm coming in a few weeks. Not the week after Thanksgiving, nor the week before Christmas. Supposedly, the "dead" week. What do you think I can expect in the way of crowds?

I think it's kind of funny when you look at the wait time board at the front of the park and see non Potter attractions at 5-15 then Forbidden Journey at 60 haha

With the exception of Veteran's Day, have the lines at FJ been about 60 minutes the past few weeks?

just the fact that hp was packed and everything else was slow should make them want to expand quicker. they should add that thing they are doing in london, 2 sick rides and 2 sick shows. That will change the game folks, that would be the biggest thing since lebron came to miami haha

For the most part, yes, it is still holding 60 minute lines.
