If this is because of complaints about the other one, I don't think it'll help the situation if it's handled the same way. Hopefully they work something out differently, otherwise the people who don't get to go this time will start complaining, especially if they got to go to neither. I can't really see how you'd handle it in a way that people wouldn't complain about, though.

Having more nights since the demand is more than met is a good start, also possibly not letting the rsvp site registry open until everyone has been mailed their invites. Seriously with people who live a three hours drive away there is no reason for them to not be getting their invites until nearly a week or more later than locals.

Yes, but there will still always be at least one person who got their invite late, or didn't have a means of RSVPing, etc.

Did they mention the reason for this? Was it due to complaints of the other event hitting capacity so quickly?

Exactly right.

For some reason I never get invites or announcements from UO even though I've signed up on their e-mail list multiple times.

Same here. I've signed up for survey e-mails countless times, I'm an AP holder, I've entered contests, and very, very rarely get an e-mail.

They are usually sent in the postal mail, not e-mail. They send the invites to the address in which you used when purchasing your Annual Pass. If you do not get the invitations, you may want to contact Universal to insure that they have your correct address.

I live local, and didn't get the invite until after the event was full.

Universal could send out the invites two weeks before registration is open. That way everyone would have their invites at a midnight the day of registration everyone would have an equal chance of getting to sign up.

I never got any email or link whatsoever and I live in Miami, I wouldn't have been able to go either way, and I do get my AP mailers for xmas and HHN, as well as emails every now and then, so I do feel a little slighted I never got it for HP. But that definitely sounds good if they do another one in Dec, and HOPEFULLY they can weed out those who went to the first one and let the others go to the second one.

It would kind of suck for all of us who can't go this weekend, if every single one of the same people go again in December.

It does suck that so many of us got one after the event was already booked up but the more I think about it, unless there is a really good cap on capacity for the rsvp, there is not much worth my gas to the event. The poster would be nice but thinking if it filled up to capacity and you only get two hours with just the wizarding world it is going to be as packed if not more than regular operating hours for this slower time of year.

yeah..i bought tickets for opening weekend, but decided not to go after seeing the crowds..SO to say ive waited a long time for this is definitely an understatment.

REALLY hope that the park isnt SUPER crowded because its opening weekend for the new flick, and there is a passholder event (at night)..but as long as I don't have to wait over an hour for FJ then Im ok with it. Gonna get there early. Hopefully the die hard Potter fans will have slept in after attending the midnight show.

ill make sure to report back!

Yea, even if the wait for FJ says 45 minutes, it flies by sooo fast because of all the details you won't realize it.

45 min wait is pretty average in my opinion. I have been to IOA when the wait for Hulk is 120 mins..that is just nuts.
