I am amazed with how Japan made an inmersive experience when entering to Hogsmeade. I think it will be impossible here since it looks lik a looong trail there. Also the music that slowly changes until you get into Hogsmeade. Amazing...

No excessive forestation possible in our park. The entrance arch to Hogsmeade is directly behind Flintstones BBQ, no room left at all.

To be honest, as cool as that trail is in USJ, it seems like a really long walk. It'd be a pain to go back and forth throughout the day. Oh, well.

William was just supporting your statement by mentioning Flintstones.

Here's an interesting video of the park just a few months before opening:

Holy crap, that's nice. Leave it to Japan to do something like that.

Shame about the ride building sticking out though.

Very impressive!  However, I can just see the IMAX theater and Citywalk behind it!  LOL

Hollywood will need more trees!

I won't promise anything, but are there any photos or videos people like to have of Universal Studios in Japan? I will be visiting the place in the week of September 8th.

Again, I won't promise anything as I'm already spending a lot of time at the Terminator 2 3D attraction and I'd like to use the rest of my time to see something of the park and attractions. ;-)

^ I'll second that! Any and all pics and videos of BTTF as possible! Japan is ridiculously strict but if you somehow can, PLEASE take an HD video of BTTF. If you can do it as inconspicuously as possible!

And honestly, anything else would be awesome as well! USJ is an amazing park!

If you have time/money, you should visit Tokyo Disney Resort as well, especially DisneySea!

Okay, I will try. Isn't it allowed to film in queue areas or so of attractions in USJ? I have plans to film the whole queue video of T23D and photograph every poster etc in the queue area.

The only thing I fear in the park are long waiting lines, from what I've read on various sites. I hate buying express tickets and I don't think it's a fair way to visit the park. If you have a lot of money, you can skip the lines but it feels double dibbing as you already paid for the entrance ticket.. If not, you can hope you can visit the attractions for which you have already paid with the entrance ticket.

Can someone tell me where the booth or camera is hidden in BTTF? I was in in Orlando last May and I was filming the Simpsons ride when suddenly a voice through a speaker told me to shut the camera off. So how did they see me? Where's the camera hidden? :-)

We're going to visit Tokyo Disneyland too, last week of August if I remember correctly.

The camera is through a small hole in the screen looking directly at you.  Another camera is over your head looking down on you.

I had to film BTTF in Japan from my iPhone and hold it to my chest.  It was the least conspicuous I could be.

Some queue photos are fine in Japan.  However, there are certain animatronics and videos they will hound on you quickly such as Space Fantasy queue.

Be prepared to empty your pockets for Hollywood Dream coaster.  They force you to.

T23D queue recording should be fine, just keep the light off for Asian Kimberley.  The Japanese crowd will have a blast with Kimberley, but won't laugh once at any of the Arnold one liners.

Even Backdraft (did anyone remember that they had this?) they hunted me down filming in the final room.  Just be prepared.

I was hiding my camera during Waterworld as much as possible.  I made it through the entire show, luckily.

Jurassic Park has a huge sign which reads "No Cameras".  Good luck.  I took snap photos, but no video.

Monster Rock and Roll show was the only show with English in the performance.  But very strict recording.

Good luck!

Very disappointing that they're so ridiculously strict about filming literally EVERYWHERE, even in cloned attractions that allow you to record stateside. Maybe it has to do with USJ not being wholly owned by Universal?

Either way, for an out of country tourist, that's ridiculously disappointing.

Kinda funny too. Japan is known for being so camera obsessed. So it's odd.

Tokyo Disney is the exact same way with cameras.

Disney is one of the most lenient theme park operators when it comes to cameras. So I believe its probably Oriental Land Company policy and in the case of Universal Japan, probably their parent company policy as well.

However, Universal is pretty strict about cameras on their attractions here state side too. So I wouldn't be surprised if Universal Japan is just following the SOP that Universal Creative gives to them.

In USH with Simpsons, an infrared camera is located in the ride car. It's facing you for the people on the second row. I can't recall if the first row has one too.

I....don't believe that's correct. No in-car cameras. Those are just infrared lights, they glow purple if a camera sees them. The cameras are still behind the screens
