It ruins the atmosphere as well. You feel like you're in Hollywood until you look up and see this odd, glass/metal structure above you.

I wouldn't say it ruins the atmosphere. It's just different. If anything, it's incredibly useful when it rains - which was often on my visit.

I would go and experience it to see what I mean. It doesn't dominate Hollywood if that's what anyone is thinking.

I guess you'd have to actually experience it to make a precise statement. I'm sure the attractions within Hollywood keep people from standing outside, looking up at the ceiling! Haha.

Problem is, there aren't enough attractions. LOL.

If I recall correctly, they only had one show - Monster Rock - and nothing else.

The title for this video reads

"Universal Studios Singapore - Experience being a firefighter"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYVJM1DYFcY

First I didn't know that USS had a Backdraft show thats now gone and that the spoken language at the end of the shows not in English as most thing are in Singapore.

Is this miss titled?

It doesn't have Backdraft...it only has Lights Camera Action. Universal Studios Japan has Backdraft.

No, USJ still has Backdraft. It's still open. Singapore never had it.

Yep. Singapore's never had Backdraft. The attraction only opened in Hollywood, followed by Japan.

For those of you interested in the technical aspect of the park. I encourage you to read two of these articles:

http://www.nowsound.co.nz/index.php/pi_pageid/14/pi_newsitemid/283

http://www.theatreprojects.com/files/pdf/pubs_sentosa-mondo.pdf

Among some interesting tidbits: they have the largest installation of WaterWorld among the three and they're the smallest Universal park currently in existence. Not sure if the latter is really true (considering the proper metric of what constitutes theme park space in Hollywood), but it's interesting nonetheless.

By terms of actual theme park, Singapore is larger than USH. But if you include the Studio Tour then the whole game changes.

That's what I was thinking as well. I will say this though: if Hollywood had the opportunity to do things right, it would have definitely followed Singapore's footprint. It's much smaller than you would expect.

Too bad the park isn't run very well.

If I needed a sentence to sum up the park - it'd be this.

I need to finish the Singapore video logs soon, since it's such an odd park. I stayed on-site at the Hard Rock, and I couldn't even begin to describe my experience. Unusual.

The Battlestar Galactica roller coaster is apparently still closed (photos for reference: http://insideuniversal.net/2012/11/universal-studios-singapore-day-4-sci-fi-city/).

According to Deiki.com, they might eventually scrap it altogether: http://dejiki.com/2013/10/uss-update-oct13/

Just like Windseeker at Knotts Berry Farm(though its being moved), its only lasted a little over  a year. That ride could be pretty intense depending on your seats. Outer seats gave you a better view on entire park inner seats gave you a view of the parks also oh yea and the floor 301 ft bellow you. LOL. I did enjoy the ride and thought what a great use for such a small area.
