Has anyone heard or seen regular guest reactions to this ride?

Not us theme park geeks, but the common man of sorts?

I realize that might actually be even harder to find at Disneyland than WDW since we have a lot of locals, but I am super curious if there is any buzz/excitement around this at all

Judging by social media "regular guests" seem to like it.

I managed to get into Web Slingers yesterday. Honestly, while it's fun to sling things with your hands, it feels no different than playing on Oculus Quest 2. Spider-Man isn't as present in the ride as with the old Spider-Man ride at Islands of Adventure. It's understandable since it's not meant to be an A-ride, but I wish Disney would be more creative with the ride.

I know Day one they won't change it...but after Spiderman next film/Dr Strange do we think the in ride story could be updated?

Like add some villains and more Spiderman and maybe even Dr Stange or Wong?

They won’t even do a seasonal overlay for Midway Mania. What makes you think they’ll change up this? Especially a ride that’s already a turd and can’t be fixed?

I mean its all screens, they could fix it easily

Toy Story doesn't need to be fixed....and yes most people "like" the ride but maybe someone is smart enough to see this wont become a classic without more added to it

Toy Story did get updated ever so softly for 2010 for Toy Story 3 (even though they didn't do anything new for Toy Story 4). Could they update Web Slingers? Maybe?

If it's baked into the production budget of another project--maybe? I don't see them putting the financial resources if things weren't planned out in advance ala how Guardians did things.

Could be wrong but I don't think DCA is getting anything BIG for a few years. So in like a year or two could easily say the ride is updated and say "x" characters are now in the ride. Maybe even make one of the characters random (the game part would not be random just who shows up to help)

I doubt it's planned but it would be nice, its the very least they could do with the bare minimum effort they put into this ride

Once again though--as I said, what point do the bean counters come in. If something is generating the profits; why not keep things as it is and focus on things more important than small additions.

I do think DCA could still get that Avengers E-Ticket sooner than later, I'd even argue before the Olympics; as the SoCal market should sooner than later rebounce ever so softly in the terms of traffic. But I'd think that if WEB ever gets anything added, it'd have to be tied to the budget of an upcoming Marvel Studios project, be that from their future mini-studio for Animation; or from a movie/D+ tie-in.

I don't honestly think Disney will update Slingers in the future. Considering how the current storyline is, I think the ride might stay where it is, no matter how many sequels Spider-Man Avengers will have. Currently, there's only one variation of that ride, and I think it will stay where it is considering the storyline practically fits Spider-Man and thereby leaving no reason to add more variations like Star Tours is.

It still baffles me you’re not using this tech to fight villains.

Actors cost money....I'd be fine with variants of the Vulture if that is what has to be done to get them in the ride

What do you mean “actors?” You can use any villain from the Spider-Man universe and have a no name voice them. Disney doesn’t need to hire Michael Keaton to improve this attraction.

Because its in the MCU you kinda do. Unless its someone "new" i think the ride has to be canon to the MCU

I would be fine with that as well but think they want it to fit into the MCU, so like I said variants work just fine for that

For real. Bob Chapek is easily one of the worst CEOs Disney has had. Between this land and all the changes happening in Glendale, he’s a greedy SOB.

Bob Chapek is now basically turning the park upside down. While Universal is investing new tech in its attractions while minimizing the use of screens, Chapek is taking Disney parks backwards. If Chapek was in charge of Disneyland in the 1960s, POTC, Small World, and Haunted Mansion wouldn't exist.

I've always been, overall, an Eisner defender (while acknowledging his flaws, I think -- creatively -- he oversaw the greatest period in WDW's history, as well as the complete rejuvenation of the company's film departments).

We'll see how bad things get under Chapek before Eisner starts to get re-assessed somewhat more favorably.

and he kind of killed the GESWL experience when he was head of the parks division. Cutting all that live entertainment and character interactions left the land a bit lifeless.

I'm with you on Eisner. I thought he was just really stupid, but after watching Defunctland's sub-plot of him I realize he was a very creative man who was trying to navigate a very stressful business in which, after losing his friend and partner-in-crime, tried to stay relevant in a rapidly changing world and ended up with more failures than successes.
