So will it be a single train on a dead ended track that goes back and forth?

Will they have two engines on the ends so it always looks like it's pulling into a station and then backing out?

I'm assuming there will be a by pass somewhere to allow for 2 trains to be on the track at the same time. Only way it works capacity wise, IMO.

And I don't think you'll ever be able to see the front of the train to be honest. so I dunno how it's going to work.

I don't know if they can really get away with narrower, though. I mean...the current one is about as narrow as it can get.

Of course I'm not saying the walkways will be 15 feet across; we have building codes to deal with. But will it be convincing if it's 50 feet? In the films, I don't think you ever see the sky in Diagon Alley. I'm curious how they will make a convincing alley and regulate crowds. I guess the multiple walkways will be better than Hogsmeade's single avenue.

Well, maybe it wouldn't "'hit' as hard" in terms of physical scope, but I'd argue it'll have similar effects in terms of visuals, especially for those with any level of sentiment attached to Potter. I mean, what's the first wizard-y place you see or read about in the series? What's Harry's first introduction to this world he matters so much in but has only just discovered, the place that finally physically confirmed that he wasn't alone?

Rewatch this scene and tell me that wouldn't be grand:

(Actually, yeah, tell me if it wouldn't be; I have my Devout Potter Fanatic glasses on, as always.)

That's the only definition of "grand" I intended. DA will be wonderful, beautiful, bustling, whimsical, exciting, fun...just not huge and open. As in, Hogsmeade/Hogwarts is spectacular, DA will be charming.

I hope that's how they do it anyway. There are many layers to the Potter universe, and I'd like to have to different versions of Harry's world.

As far as the impact it has upon entering, I guess we won't know until it opens

I expect it'll be a cable car system where both trains are connected to each other. This is a rather old concept. This would ensure that there are no delays after a train has already left the station, enabling each vehicle to follow its script.

It might've been mentioned in past speculation. I'm picturing something grander but using the same system as Ocean Express at Ocean Park.

I could see that. I was thinking this might use a powered coaster system like Seuss Trolley, since it'd be elevated. A vehicle the size of the Hogwarts Express might be too big for that though. But switches and maneuverability are already strong suits of coasters. It could work.

Ya I voted WAY too early on the Potter poll, and had I seen all the available evidence, I would have certainly voted differently. That’s why I waited to vote on SS44 until I saw basically proof of what the right answer was, because it turns out voting on a “hunch” opens the door to years of public ridicule on this site if you end up being wrong… even though I'm sure everyone here has speculated incorrectly at least once at some point... anyway welcome to the club, what size dunce hat do you wear?

Yeah! Why should the millions of other people who pay more money and actually visit the 330 other days of the year get a better experience????

Thierry Coup seems to be the go-to guy for Universal's big E-tickets. He has now done Spidey, Forbidden Journey, and Transformers. Do you think he is working on Gringotts or has he moved up and the torch has been passed to the next guy?

Based on picture 25, I'm starting to think this will use the same technology as Transformers but it will be based on A Beautiful Mind  Great pictures, btw!

Those posters got me thinking that Universal could try a ride based on the history of movies, but then I realized Disney fanboys would rip that apart. "They stole Great Movie Ride AHHHH!!"
