I don't see why they wouldn't make the Hogwats Experss Wheel Chair accessible without even requiring a tranfer. The Dollelmayr Funicular is used around the world for actual Public Transportation.

Personally, I think they should have just let the 2 Park pass holders ride the HE. First, it eliminates this "re-ride" problem, which will most likely cause confusion and problems. What if someone dislikes the ride (it makes them sick, perhaps) and does not want to ride back?. Second, it helps keep capacity and chaos to a much smaller scale, and finally it gives an extra incentive to purchase the 2 day ticket. It seems like a smart business decision to allow people that pay a bit more, get access to more. no?

What if someone dislikes the ride (it makes them sick, perhaps) and does not want to ride back?. Second, it helps keep capacity and chaos to a much smaller scale, and finally it gives an extra incentive to purchase the 2 day ticket. It seems like a smart business decision to allow people that pay a bit more, get access to more. no?

Capacity won't be a problem with the ride.

And personally, I think it's a worse business decision to restrict an iconic attraction to those paying more. It sets a dangerous precedent.

I'm curious how they are less WC friendly then Disney? All of the ones that can accommodate a chair are built to, they just have a more thrilling set or rides and not all of them can accommodate.

ha ha...you do realize this is the same theme park that charges more for Express pass then their actual HHN ticket right? I mean If I didn't buy that express pass this year, there is NO way I would have been able to see all the houses. They all had 1-2 hour waits...

Universal is a business. All costs are set for profit maximization. If 600 guests are willing to spend $40, 500 are willing to spend $50, and 400 are willing to spend $60, Universal will charge $50.

I know they are a business, that's why offering an extra incentive to purchase a 2 day pass seems like a smart idea from a business perspective. Also makes things a lot less sloppy. How many people loose their park ticket about 5 mins from entering the park. I can see the complaint desk now....

yeah, but you get access to 2 parks! and now a new ride! Just seems like it's adding the extra incentive to me for them to sell more tickets.

Personally, I think they should just do away with the 1 park ticket, and make Universal ONE park. Of course that will never happen...

Talk about the cluster F that will be happenning at each end, seemingly there will be scanners to make sure people have 2 park tickets....how cool would it be if Uni designed barcode scanners, that are wireless and look like wizard wands

the only other idea I have...was possibly allowing the 1 day ticket people (stay on board) like people do at a bus stop. This would avoid people having to get off the train, get back in line, and go back. The problem with that idea is that someone could possibly sit on it all day without leaving.

Guys trust Universal! I'm sure they have done many studies and test with traffic flow and it will not turn into an issue. There are many things we don't know and I think a lot of our assumptions won't necessarily be true when everything's said and done.

You will be able to buy the 2 Park Pass at the Main Gates of both parks (as it is now), or upgrade a 1 Park Pass to a 2 Park Pass at either train station before exiting the station. If you don't upgrade your 1 Park Pass, you will not be able to leave the station and have to queue up for a return trip.

Concerning capacity, I am guessing approx. 176 passengers per train. And everyone will have to disembark, otherwise they wouldn't be able to stage the load queues.

I was just thinking, typically the parks close at different times. With the new expansion, does this mean both parks will now have to always close at the same time?

Not necessarily. As mentioned, the HE could close early, or they could do all round trips. Then again, I believe that IoA closes later nowadays because of the crowds that WWoHP brings in, so it's very possible we will see them both close at a later time once London opens.

At the end of the day, after all the discussions, I think it would do more harm to restrict it.
If someone gets sick, they can be treated until they are ready to go back, or they could be escorted out.

Another problem would be that if they don't have empty trains, it totally restricts Universal's ability to organize and control the seating arrangements, which is a key aspect in capacity and operations of any ride.

They must have taken into account how stretched Nassal* was in 2009/2010. I haven't heard anything about the decorative props and display contracts going out yet... but then again, I haven't been pushing for info at all.

Last time I went it was very difficult to get a shot. They have shade cloth up everywhere blocking the view.
